Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) said it was a “mistake” for Democrats to support Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu giving an address to Congress.
“I believe it was, and I’ve expressed that view,” he said when asked on CBS’s “Face the Nation” whether it was a mistake for Democrats to support the visit. “But the reality is, obviously, he came. So for those of us who thought it was a mistake to have him here, we expressed our views by not participating.”

It’s the Reform and people who are not Jewish by Jewish law who are more liberal. And why should Israelis be lumped with American Jews and the influences on them? They are totally different, facing different challenges. Why should we cut off aid to Israel, when they are allies and under constant attack from muzzlimes? We benefit greatly from our allegiance to Israel. They develop an unbelievable amount of technology, medical developments, test American weapons, and give us information we cannot otherwise obtain. If you can throw away money aiding Pakistan, Haiti, etc. you can support Israel. At least we get something out of the deal, as well as reduce the muzzlime threat.

Donald Trump does not mean that we should jettison our allies. We have to support our own country first, like any other country does, but we need to have reliable allies. There is no one in the Middle East except Israel in that category.
It is time to reevaluate our friendship with Israel. We shouldn't be giving them billions of dollars a year now that they are a viable nation-state. They need to build up their military-industrial-complex so that they are completely self-sufficient.
Consider the size of Israel and the relative amount of expenditures they must make on security. Leave Israel alone!
