The UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, and UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander, Lt. Gen. Aroldo Lázaro, on Saturday night called for “maximum restraint” between Israel and Lebanon following the rocket attack on Majdal Shams which killed 12 people.
“We deplore the death of civilians - young children and teenagers - in Majdal Shams. Civilians must be protected at all times,” the two said in a statement.
“We urge the parties to exercise maximum restraint and to put a stop to the ongoing intensified exchanges of fire. It could ignite a wider conflagration that would engulf the entire region in a catastrophe beyond belief,” they added.
“UNIFIL and UNSCOL are in contact with both Lebanon and Israel,” the statement concluded.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed on Saturday night that Israel “will not let this pass in silence.”
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said following the attack, "For the death of small children, [Hezbollah leader Hassan] Nasrallah must pay with his head. All of Lebanon must pay the price. My stance on the necessary measures is known. The Prime Minister should return immediately. It is time for action."

First order of business for a new Trump administration should be an Executive Order for the UN to exit the premises on NYC’s East River in 10 days, and withdraw from the UN.
Then give the Senate notice that they should deratify the UN Treaty of July 28, 1945.
When the police show up on the scene what they’re there to do is calm the situation down. They don’t care what’s fair or just or who did what to whom. They just want peace. Therefore, they threaten the sane, law-abiding citizens and just make placating gestures to the crazy who started the problem. That’s because the sane, law-abiding citizen can be threatened, and he’ll therefore endure whatever nastiness the crazy guy dishes out. All in the name of “peace” which the cop can then claim he brought about. The UN is doing exactly the same. Everyone knows you can’t deal with or threaten Hezbollah. Never hear them call die Hezbollah to exercise a iota of restraint.

By maximum restraint is meant, Israel does nothing to defend itself or respond to the attack.
Maybe Israel should go after UNIFIL, considering the support that it has given to Hezbollah.
