BUTLER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) — The Butler County district attorney is sticking up for two local snipers who were inside the building facing the roof where Thomas Matthew Crooks carried out the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger refuted some of Pennsylvania State Police Col. Christopher Paris' testimony during Tuesday's congressional hearing on Capitol Hill.
Butler DA disputes testimony In a letter on Wednesday, Goldinger defended the two Butler County Emergency Services Unit snipers who were reported to have left their assigned building at the AGR complex during the rally in Butler Township on July 13.
In that letter, Goldinger said, "To say that these officers left their post is a misstatement. ... They performed the duties to which they were assigned."
Goldinger said only one of the snipers left the building briefly to chase the shooter after he was spotted. When he could not find him, he returned to the building, the DA said.
"For clarification, neither officer left their post, as was testified at the hearing on July 13. Their post was the building," Goldinger wrote in the letter.
Paris was told the two local snipers positioned at the second-floor windows overlooking the roof took a photo of the shooter and circulated it before leaving the area to look for him on the ground.
State police stand by testimony Pennsylvania State Police spokesperson Lt. Adam Reed defended Paris' testimony, saying, "Our agency stands by yesterday's testimony. The investigation into the shooting and its aftermath continues."
Goldinger also claims the snipers who were posted inside the building wouldn't have been able to see the shooter from where they were. Sources told KDKA-TV that those two local snipers were told to watch the crowd and stage.
The contradictions come amid a whistleblower claim that police were supposed to be on the roof but went inside because of the hot weather. Members of Congress who toured the site in Butler Township say they were told heat was an issue.
Where is information on #5? How did they get confirmation he was visited several times by SS over the last few months?
I am so tired of listening to these experts make excuses for why this went down the way it did. The bottom line is they failed and this little crook Creep should have never gotten one shot off ,let alone 8,if that’s even true. There isn’t any law anymore, the ones that are suppose to uphold the law are the perpetrators.
"Lincoln's usual protections were not in place that night at Ford's. Crook was on a second shift at the White House, and Ward Hill Lamon, Lincoln's personal bodyguard, was away in Richmond on assignment from Lincoln. John Frederick Parker was assigned to guard the Presidential Box. At intermission he went to a nearby tavern along with Lincoln's valet, Charles Forbes, and Coachman Francis Burke. Booth had several drinks while waiting for his planned time. It is unclear whether Parker returned to the theater, but he was certainly not at his post when Booth entered the box."
Thanks for the info.
If true, fire them.
The latest story is one of the LE snipers went to look for Crooks and the other remained at his position. I have a hand crank window that opens outward similar to the one where the LE guy was. The field of view isn't all that great unless you stick your head out the window or have your nose planted on the glass. If the LE sniper's head is 12 to 18 inches away from the window manning the gun, I doubt he would have seen Crooks.
Just another Uvalde Jircle Cerk by pretty boyz and girls with guns and badges.
What a bizarre and seemingly irrelevant thing to report. Were the spoons, plates and forks possibly taken away for forensic analysis?
When your intent is to stand aside while Trump is assassinated, none of the cover stories offered up after that plan fails are going to make any sense. There are only two possibilities here: Either this was an event of unimaginable and unexplainable incompetence, or it was an orchestrated plan to get Trump. The fact that there seems to be no one among federal or local law enforcement who, witnessing the absurdity of that day, jumped into action to at least ask what the hell was going on speaks volumes. It seems EVERYONE either turned a blind eye to the obvious or only took the bare minimum of actions when presented by the public with reports of a sniper crawling across a rooftop.
bttt
Wasn’t there supposed to be a police sniper or two in the building from which Crooks fired? If they left their post what did they do with their sniper rifles while they wandered around the building? I would think once a sniper rifle was set up in position, it wouldn’t be moved until the rally was over and Trump had left the grounds.

Cheatle started this ‘word salad’ by saying security was posted inside the building whose roof was used as Crook’s perch. This appears to me to be totally false and meant to mislead, confuse and draw attention away from the second floor window. The security detail was supposed have been on the roof of the one story building used by Crooks. However, that detail appears to have taken it upon themselves to move to the open window on the second floor of the building directly to the rear and parallel to the one used by Crooks because the detail concluded the lower roof was ‘too hot,’ which I label as BS. That roof is either white or painted with aluminum paint. Anyone who has put their hand on a black and then a white painted car out in the sun appreciates the temperature differential between dark and light surfaces. Then again, Crooks didn’t appear to be deterred by laying spine on the roof surface. When the Congressional detail visited the site and shot a camera out of the second floor window onto the roof below, the entire roof used by Crooks is visible from the second floor window. The story regarding the two security officers stationed at the window keeps changing. First, they said the roof was too hot so they moved inside the two story building. Then they said both abandoned their second story post to chase down the shooter, JUST before the shooter move to the roof and took his position on the lower roof, which would have been clearly visible from the second floor window. Then they said only one of the security guys left their post to chase down the shooter. However, there is no reason to believe that the one remaining guy could not have seen Crooks on the roof below the window and to the left. Now they claim their job was not to watch Crooks’ roof but to keep their eyes glued to the rally crowd over at the stage area. I believe some of the rounds directed at the stage area came out of the second story window that these clowns occupied. They have tried to confuse the hell out of situation as to what was going on inside that widow. Bottom line: There is no way in that a ‘good guy’ performing security at the second floor window would have missed Crooks moving around and setting up on the roof below the window. Find the video of the Congressional visit and you will clearly see for yourself how visible the lower roof was from the second story window. I think the first three rounds sound ‘muffled’ to me, which suggests the shooter(s) were ‘professional’ and took the first three shots from the second floor and back from the window opening. If you have ever shot a gun from inside a building, you will appreciate how the bullet signatures are captured by the room from which they are shot. That fact supports the ‘muffling’ that happens with a shot from inside a room and back from the window opening. Compare the signature of the first three rounds with the floury that follows. Note the sharp clarity of subsequent signatures verses the first three rounds.
A member of a two-member sniper team doesn’t take off from his post to “chase” someone. The one that did abandon his post. His move should have been to notify other mobile LE of what he saw and where he saw it.
” Someone visited Crooks home and place of work several times over the past several months then returned to DC to Gallery Place that is near the Secret Service office and an FBI office.”
Source?
Right there. The officer failed to do his assigned duty when he returned to the building empty handed. Did he return to the building on his own accord or did someone tell him to give up the chase? Why weren't others called in to find Crooks? How many times over the hours was Crooks reported only to have SS sit on their thumbs?
My guess is this failed at the executive management planning stage and went downhill after that. Reports indicate the SS had a skeleton crew to protect Trump and the rest of the people tasked to protect Trump were not trained in SS techniques. The event should never had been allowed to proceed during the planning stage. Once the event got underway there appears to be communication breakdowns between all the agencies involved with providing support.
The arrest of Scottie Scheffler earlier this year at the PGA golf tournament exposes lack of communication between law enforcement agencies providing traffic and crowd control at major events. One agency told him it was safe to proceed while another cop didn't get the memo..

So...a sloped roof AND heat? My goodness, all concerned were suffering under extremely poor conditions.
Great info!
Thanks.
here’s one, but it has been posted here too.
