Donald Trump revealed in a newly aired interview what President Biden told him shortly after the Republican presidential nominee survived an assassination attempt at his Pennsylvania campaign rally. “He said, ‘You’re lucky you turned to the right,’” Trump, 78, told Fox News host Jesse Watters of his phone call with the 81-year-old president. The former president characterized his chat with Biden as a ”nice conversation.” In the interview, which was taped Saturday but aired Monday, Trump also revealed that he refused orders to be carried off stage on a stretcher after the sniper’s bullet grazed his ear. “They wanted to put me on a stretcher,” Trump said. “They had a stretcher, and they wanted to put me on a stretcher. I think Trump has said, the secret service agents tackling him knock his shoes off. I seem to recall him saying his shoes were not loose but they really took him down.
“ I’m still trying to figure out why they (SS) threw his shoes on the ground, off of podium.”

Removing a trip hazard would be my guess.
President Trump made a great call walking off the stage shaking his fist.
I would think in the mayhem his shoes got slid off by people grabbing and jostling him
Probably two reasons:
1. Trip hazard.
2. In the heat of the moment, they may not have recognized them as Trump’s and wanted any unknown object out of the way.
I’ve been in an active shooter situation. Your focus is on your survival and the survival of those “friendlies” around you. Everything else is insignificant.
I can and do fault them for a number of outrageous fails; the shoes are not one of them.
Oh, I’m not faulting them.

Then they started cheering when he came out of the Beast.
“He’s walking! He’s walking!”
That was weird. Maybe took the shoes off hoping to make it harder for him to refuse to be carried?

That was indeed a cool moment seeing their relief.
“ Put him on a stretcher?!?”
I they could have gotten him unconscious and put him on a stretcher, it’s possible they could have finished the job in the car. By walking out and being defiant he showed everyone he was OK which may have saved his life.
Taking your shoes slows you down a lot. Making it far harder to walk outside and more risky.
Yes, I read that, too. I’ve been puzzled by how his shoes came off.
Had they carried him off that ear wound would most likely have been fatal.
Even worse, some nefarious person could have finished him off if he were on the stretcher. And all of Butler seems to have been full of nefarious people that day.

Unlike Biden who has not been seen in FIVE DAYS.

Not only that, he made sure he retrieved his red MAGA hat and put it back on his head! All of it was just amazing — the shoes, the hat, the fist pumps, yelling “Fight, Fight, Fight” to the world.
OMG! I haven’t seen that. I loathe Demonicrats more and more.
