Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle told lawmakers her agency has no radio recordings from the day of the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, earlier this month.
On Monday, Cheatle was asked about the security agency’s records-keeping practices by Rep. Russell Fry, R-S.C.
“Does the Secret Service routinely record communications between and amongst detail?” Fry said.
“Radio communications?” Cheatle clarified.
“Any communication,” Fry said.
“Email communications are captured as well as text messages. And then depending on the detail, radio communications are recorded,” Cheatle said.
“Does the Secret Service have recorded communications from the July 13th event?” Fry asked.
“We do not have radio communications from that day,” Cheatle said.

So the shooting range Thomas Crooks was a member of is Clairton Sportsmen’s Club.
Apparently, Clairton Sportsmen’s Club “is not just a bunch of shooting ranges,” but “regional police and sheriff departments train there, plus officers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department of Homeland Security.”
Wonder if that includes Homeland Security HSI agents.
If so, had any of them ever encountered Crooks prior to July 13?
Also, why would Crooks google “where to buy ammo” the day of the event as the FBI reported. If he is a member of this club, he would know where to buy ammo.

Cheatle spent 3 hours in front of Congress today doing nothing but lying.
I think she expected the “mission” to be a success, she would fall on her sword and quickly resign, and no one would ever question her about the failures. That would be that. She would then be rewarded with a nice cushy lobbyist job. Haley would volunteer to be the GOP nominee (2nd place you know!) and the deep state would be back in control forever more.
God then had Trump just slightly move his head, and all their plans were for naught.
I’m not sure if I want Cheatle fired or just sent straight to prison.

A representative made that point at the hearing today. She asked how even Congress members could depend on Secret Service agents with this type of training and oversight by the director.

NEW - Whistleblowers tell me law enforcement personnel were in fact STATIONED to the roof the day of the Trump rally, but abandoned it, citing the heat. They also say law enforcement were supposed to be patrolling the building, but opted to stay inside instead.
Maybe we should get some Alabama or Georgia roofers to take care of rooftop security.

That’s the wrong question. The question should have been “was radio traffic at the Bakersfield event on July 13th recorded?”
The answer she gave would have been perjury in the event it was later found there were recordings, whether they were erased or not.
As a former fed LEO all of our radio coms were always recorded. We were required to keep the recordings for up to 6 months or more. It would be interesting to know if it was a federal regulation or just our agencies policy.
The reason for this is because they are potential evidence in future proceeding either civil or criminal. Failure to produce the recordings in court lets the other side make up any story they want and you have no way to refute it.
Now if the USSS did not record them did the state and locals? I believe the state and locals did not have direct comms with the SS agents around Trump. If they did they would have gotten him the hell off the stage at the first sign of trouble.
