More than four dozen former foreign and national security officials for the U.S. government called on Biden in a letter Friday to drop out of the presidential race.
"We write as former U.S. officials who have strongly supported your presidency and your initiatives to strengthen U.S. foreign and national security policy," they wrote. "We have welcomed the measures you have taken to promote U.S. alliances in Europe, Asia, and the Americas; to manage relations with great powers; and to address global issues such as climate change. These initiatives have been built on your decades-long record of support for responsible U.S. international engagement."
"We strongly believe that now is the time to pass the mantle of leadership, and we respectfully urge you to do so," they wrote to Biden.
Among the signatories are Richard Clarke, former national coordinator for security and counterterrorism, and Anthony Lake, who served as national security adviser to President Bill Clinton.

sounds to me like exactly the same 51 CIA clucks that wrote their letter claiming Hunter’s laptop was russkie misinformation ... they’re at it again, but this time desperately trying to throw the guy they originally supported under the bus because they don’t want to go down in flames with him ...
They’re PO’d because Biden f*&&ked up once more (the assassination fell through). That was the last straw. And what’s more, they now have to worry about what an ascendant Trump will do.
But first, they’ll take care of business with Biden. Then plan on how to deal with Trump.

HuffPost first revealed the text of the letter on Thursday evening.
“Donald Trump’s vision, approach, and expressed intentions concerning our nation’s security are in fundamental conflict with the values and principles for which you have stood ... We strongly believe that now is the time to pass the mantle of leadership and we respectfully urge you to do so,” the message continues.
The message cites Biden’s accomplishments abroad in Europe, Asia and the Americas and on international challenges like climate change.
More than 48, but they couldn’t get all 51?
