CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - A global internet outage early Friday morning is impacting major industries around the world, including banks, airlines, and TV stations.
Our computers at the TV9 studio in Cedar Rapids were down for a period of time. The Cedar Rapids Police Department tells TV9 it was also affected.
The FAA is issuing ground-stops for major airlines.
The Eastern Iowa Airport said the outages happened at a time there were no flights, and so far there has been no impact.
Outage, not Outrage.
My thought, exactly! How does one do a digital currency if the digital backbone is down?
Many businesses are down in a nearby town. We are fine, though.

Yeah I’m really over the whole SaaS thing. That’s what Adobe did years ago and it sucks. You never own your software, therefore you never own the work you created on the software. “You will own nothing, and you will be happy.”
They still nail us a monthly fee (1200 bucks a year for the one software, 8500 for the other)
But everything is locally ran. if I lose my internet connection to long (week or so) I get locked out for “expired license”
I agree. renting this stuff is really old.

WHAT could possibly go wrong? Shoot even with my direct deposit into my local bank from Social Security. In the right situation, you couldn’t use your debit card, credit card, even check processing to BUY food and water.
THEN, you’d have to ... (wait for it) ... EAT ZEE BUGS!

Seems some entity is “ testing” the system. I fully expect internet outages to increase as we get closer to War…..I also expect MSM to blame Russia or China, the war (s) must continue!
Fact is, we will never know who is creating all the recent outages…and I simply will not believe anything senile Joe’s MSM says.
I can tell you as a Schwab member it is completely screwing up options expiration. I can’t buy or sell anything. I have no idea if any of my trades are executed.
It is costing people huge amounts of money. I can’t sell my MSTR options that were up huge. Thankfully they are next weeks expiratoin.
I have been on hold for over 40 minutes now.

(Google’s YouTube, amazingly, kept popping this up on my recommended playlist on the side - so I finally watched the beginning of it - ignore the sales pitch and watch the first part I recommended above)
Good thing they didn’t bust the internet during the RNC, the conspiracy talk would never die down!
The lack of understanding of this outage is frustrating.
This is NOT a Microsoft issue. This has nothing to do with the Internet. This is due to an endpoint detection and response (EDR/XDR) solution called CrowdStrike. You might remember the Clintons were in bed with them years ago.
CrowdStrike pushed an update for the clients, and this outage is the result. It’s literally a patch to a third party product that’s brought everything down.
At least (for now) they allow me to save a copy of their precious software locally so I can do that. But they totally control it. I even caught them deleting an older version (that I bought and own the license to) off my computer when doing an auto update. Fortunately I had a backup.

Someone at Crowdstrike did not do their job. A simple test of the new code would have shown the update was a fail. But that's the way things roll now. Enjoy you flight and don't worry.
