July 19 (Reuters) - A global tech outage was disrupting operations across multiple industries on Friday, with airlines halting flights, some broadcasters off air and services from banking to healthcare hit by system problems. While major U.S. airlines - American Airlines (AAL.O), opens new tab, Delta Airlines (DAL.N), opens new tab and United Airlines (UAL.O), opens new tab - grounded flights, other carriers and airports around the world reported delays and disruptions early on Friday.
Banks and financial services firms from Australia to India and Germany warned customers of disruptions. In Britain, booking systems used by doctors were offline, multiple reports from medical officials on X said, while Sky News, one of the country's major news broadcasters was off air, apologising for being unable to transmit live, and soccer club Manchester United said on X that it had to postpone a scheduled release of tickets.

Just look at what has happened in the last week, some company backed by sources unknown massively shorts the stock of Trump’s media company the day before he was shot and only by the grace of God was not killed.
Today the company at the center of the DNC Hillary Clinton Email server hack in 2016 which was blamed on the Russians is now in 2024 being blamed for rolling out bad software that has created massive IT problems worldwide.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t believe in coincidences.
But let’s just move everything to THUH CLOUD, it’ll be cheaper and faster and better!
My employer is hellbent on the bandwagon to cloud everything that isn’t nailed down, with Amazon Web Services and Microsoft. I’ll have to check my email now that I’m up and see if anything’s broken. Heh.

Maybe it is time for politicians to demand to “claw back” all the ill gotten gains of both Crowdstrike and Microsoft and use that money to fix their buggy software. Think of it as a jobs creation tax package. They can rehire all of the American programmers that were laid off (fired) and replaced by foreigners.

Not even slightly interesting. Because of the popularity of index funds, the companies that provide the most popular index funds, Vanguard, Blackrock, and State Street are the largest institutional share holders in almost all publicly traded companies.

For now, it means the DSC watched last nights 92 minute speech, and are gonna make sure DJT does not return to the Oval office.
I haven’t used this thing in almost a week.
FWIW, this is not a cloud issue. This is a Crowdstrike issue. Crowdstrike is an XDR (AKA antivirus/antimalware). Their code patch/upgrade is causing this.
Microsoft quickly traced the problem to a code update to the CrowdStrike servers. There is a workaround by turning off the loading of Crowdstrike code, but it’s not a job for neophyte computer users.
Yep, didn’t know exactly how it would unfold, thought it might proceed openly and obviously in earnest many times over the last 3 years. Have known all along that it MUST be.
It’s all good though, Trump/MAGA/Republic does in the end return.
