This story has been updated with new evacuations at Diamond Lake, the Pacific Crest Trail and the Wickiup Reservoir area in Central Oregon
A total of 1,050 cloud-to-ground lightning strikes raked Oregon late Tuesday night into early Wednesday, igniting a number of wildfires across the state, including some that brought evacuation warnings by Wednesday morning.

And:
DIAMOND LAKE, Ore. – A fire in a trail system near a lake in Douglas County has led to urgent evacuation orders being issued.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the Trail Fire, which is burning in woods just east of Diamond Lake since the evening of July 16, has grown to the point where Level Three and Level Two evacuation orders are being issued.
I’ve been there.
Very pretty
I love Diamond Lake! Have fond memories of going there with my family.
Caught a LOT of trout on Diamond.
Lovely location, and average 14 inch rainbows.
This is very near where the large fire east of LaPine was caused by a large homeless camp.
Is the fire east of LaPine burning now? I pay attention to fires that are likely to affect southern OR.
The one East of LaPine appears out but a new one, the Jackpine fire, is now SW of LaPine.

Thank you. I’ve been using DutyWatch but it’s awkward. Usually I use inciweb but I doubt they have all these, I will check your link.

Thank you for another fire map source. So many times in the last 23 years since we’ve lived here, there have been so many very dangerous and large wildfires I can’t even count them all. Once the entire valley had to evacuate, and many other level 2 for our neighborhood, but level 3 for areas closer to the fire.
If BLM would do its job and clear out the underbrush, slash and massive fuel loads in the National Forests, there would be far fewer massive destructive wildfires. OR state forests are the responsibility of ODF - Oregon Department of Forestry and afaik they do a pretty good job. Hub worked with them when he was a firefighter.
You are welcome. I agree with you that BLM should do their job of maintaining a healthy forest but they are a .gov so there you go. Sigh.
In his first term, President Trump told the BLM to do their job of cleaning up the forests.
I live a few hundred feet from BLM forests on one side, and about 1/2 mile away on another side. Slash, etcetc.
