They do this. Back in 2016, they were pushing 1984, until they realized 1984 was about them!
Socialists and Dems praised Lewis for warning of a fascist dictator but three years before they also praised W R Hearst for his film Gabriel Over the White House which portrayed a total dictator but whose political action was cheered by the Left. It wasn’t and isn’t dictators that bother the Left. It’s only if the dictator disagrees with them.
The problem as I see it is that no matter how sound the book, the democrats
would find a way to swap the evil side doing just what they’ve been doing so
the Republicans would be cast as the bad guys.
Look at slavery, the KKK, Jim Crow, water fountains, businesses, buses etc,
and the Left says Republicans did it, and the MSM gets the public to agree.
You can’t reason with liars.
