I would say no security would be what we saw. Why didn’t they leave one cop inside or, and have two patrol the building perimeter? Air conditioned inside? Not a legitimate reason.
Best way to get rid of them. No tell-all books, because there’s nothing to tell. No security breaches, because security does not depend on them. They just get to hang around the likes of Obama and occasionally give him a feel-up or whatever.
One other interesting fact...
All the aerial photos that show the line of fire were taken AFTER the spectators left.
The shooter had to fire OVER a ten foot section of grand stand that jutted out on Trump's right side.
From the aerial photos, it is not possible to judge what kind of elevation advantage the shooter had - if any.
It is possible the shooter had to wait several minutes for some of the people to sit down, before he could see Trump.
The roof had a very low slope so her non-sense shows that she is not even familiar with the crime scene.
It’s more likely that the roof was brutally hot, and the officers thought being inside in the shade was much better for themselves. The event commander should have had the sense to put video cameras on the construction cranes and/or the water tower, bringing the whole area under continuous surveillance. I would respect the SS Director if she said, “We screwed up and will be doing extensive training on securing sites properly and working with local police effectively. This shall not be happening again”. Making a very lame excuse = not what a leader does.
