I’m a conservative and a US Patriot. If you don’t like that fine. If you want to vote for abortion and minimum wage, go for it.

Does Vance support a federal law pushing abortion rights? With the issue up to states now, it shouldn’t matter what he thinks of this unless he wants the feds to overtake the states.

I think it would be tough to have a federal minimum wage because the economy is so different in various places in the country. Also I think consumers can see what happens with minimum wage increases. But then I haven’t researched the issue.

I wasn’t hoping for Vance, to be honest. But I hope Trump knows what he’s doing after all the experiences he’s had with traitors. And I hope Vance has been able to see enough of the lies that make up our media, to change his mind about stuff that should have been no-brainers, like that the women making sexual accusations against Trump are liars. In the meantime, I’ll trust that God is with us and will help us.

Why do you keep saying he’s for abortion when he has 100 % rating from National Right to Life?

Inaccurate. Vance’s position is that we want Americans in jobs and businesses are going to need to pay them higher wages.
Vance: It’s a classic formulation: You raise the minimum wage to $20 an hour, and you will sometimes hear libertarians say this is a bad thing. “Well, isn’t McDonald’s just going to replace some of the workers with kiosks?” That’s a good thing, because then the workers who are still there are going to make higher wages; the kiosks will perform a useful function; and that’s the kind of rising tide that actually lifts all boats. What is not good is you replace the McDonald’s worker from Middletown, Ohio, who makes $17 an hour with an immigrant who makes $15 an hour. And that is, I think, the main thrust of elite liberalism, whether people acknowledge it or not.

Or the hotels example. If you cannot hire illegal migrants to staff your hotels, then you have to go to one of the seven million prime-age American men who are out of the labor force and find some way to re-engage them. It’s amazing: To this day, I hear from Republican donors, “Oh, I’ll support you because you’re Republican, but you’re not pro-business.” Well, what do you mean I’m not pro-business? I actually really agree with the classic libertarian critique of the regulatory regime. “But we can’t run our business unless we have some of these immigrants coming over, because we can’t find people who are going to do the job.” My response is that there are people who would do those jobs if the incentives were there.

Are you talking about Trump? He - like Vance - used to endorse liberal positions. They both matured and moved on.

But if you want to stay stuck in the past - Stay home on election day.
