You are conflating two separate things here. It’s one thing to be a liberal, hell it’s one thing to disagree with Trump. That’s completely fine.

I’ve thought for a while that Vance was the best choice for winning the election. The election will be decided in the Rust Belt. Vance with his rags-to-riches background and his populism will appeal to blue-collar Rust Belt voters. Biden tries to present himself as if he is one of these people, so he appeals to them more than someone like Kamala Harris would. Vance helps to counteract this and contributes to Trump’s project of making the GOP more of the working-class party than the country club party.
Of all the “short list” possibilities, he is the most likely to help Trump win PA, MI, and WI—and that is exactly what Trump needs.
It is obviously not incurable. People have epiphanies. People get red pilled. That is why people who were life long demonrats are now passionate Trump supporters.
