Trump needs someone from the outside to protect him from Deep State assassination.
No Pence, no Haley, no Rubio.

I don’t know who Trump will pick, but Vance is certainly the media’s darling.
Way too much MSM attention is paid to him recently.

Rumor all over Columbus - Governor Mike DeWine will appoint John “The Mailman” Kasich to fill Vance’s Senate term if Vance is the VP Pick.

As long as he is willing to fight the media.

Whatever Trump does, if this is the VP. Don’t let him shave the beard.

Vance always struck me as a complete phony. Probably perfect for a VP candidate, but absolutely untrustworthy inside a Trump administration.

I wish he’d pick someone outside government.

I don’t buy Vance’s politics or his biography, but he is still a helluva upgrade from Harris.

I would refuse to select Vance as my running mate if I thought there was even a chance in hell that an insufferable jackass like Kasich would replace him in the U.S. Senate.
An arrangement like this will handcuff Trump indefinitely.

Vance is definitely an outsider, in the lines of Trump. Not at all a deep state creature.
To: Leep
I wish he’d pick someone outside government. That's never going to happen. The only time a major political party selects a VP candidate from outside the party establishment is when the Presidential candidate is a party insider (like McCain/Palin in 2008, for example).

Vance may appear populist but he’s got an Ivy League, Wall Street law firm, venture capital background. That doesn’t disqualify him but the populism is a bit of an act in my opinion. I’m betting Younkin to move Virginia from “Lean Dem” into Trump’s column.

A pile of dog crap is an upgrade from Harris. That doesn’t narrow this down at all. :-P

I hope not. JD does not add anything that Trump himself does not have and represent. The election will hinge of a few “swing states” (states where the Dim-GOP polling difference is smaller than most other states) and in those states the “moderates” and “independents” are sufficient to make a final difference. Leading into the general election Trump needs a VP pick that ADDS to his campaign approach - more than a mere echo of Trump. Leave JD in the Senate where he is needed.
I have been wondering for some time if JD has a well oiled P.R. firm that is getting these “J.D. for VP” articles into the media.
