Let's cut to the chase - the US Secret Service: In on it? Or just totally crap?
Well, I've thought the Secret Service were rubbish not just since we learned of the Cartagena hookers but for at least another decade before that. And increasingly, when it comes to American officialdom - from Kabul to Uvalde - to modify Henry Ford, you can get it in any colour as long as it's bloated, lavishly over-funded and entirely dysfunctional.
And yet and yet... it's hard to believe even these guys (plus their bevy of five-foot-two-eyes-of-blue Keystone chorus girls) could be this crap. Assuming for the purposes of argument that the body on the roof is actually that of the perp, a goofball barely out of high school hatched a plan to have Donald Trump's head explode in close-up on live TV - and, wittingly or otherwise, the world's most flush money-no-object security state did their best to help him pull it off.
In any accountable "public service", the Secretary of Homeland Security and the Secret Service gal would already be gone. By this point after the Argentine invasion of the Falklands, Lord Carrington (Foreign Secretary), Sir Humphrey Atkins (Lord Privy Seal) and Richard Luce (Minister for Latin-American Affairs) had already resigned: see my column of September 17th 2001 expressing in my naïve Canadian way mystification as to why, six days later, all the 9/11 flopperoos had not been similarly dispatched.
Because that's how it goes in the Republic of Non-Accountability, and, if he's harbouring any doubts about his fitness for the job, Mayorkas figures it can wait till someone takes out RFK Jr. This is a depraved political culture.

Any shot, from a friendly, would have kicked off an immediate evacuation of the “protectee”. Heck even a firecracker would do it.

This was a divine intervention by our great God and His holy angels. More and more, Trump reminds me of King David. I lift up this wonderful man and his marvelous family. We are so fortunate to have him after this hit failed.
As for the secret service, a commentator I listen to asked why the trust and reverence for a corrupt group of government employees who have routine and dubious failures. They did everything they could to get Trump killed.

That cop could have done anything, including ducking down and shooting into the air several times to rattle the assassin, alert SS to the assassin, and trigger the removal of the president from the stage, anything that even a cowardly cop could have done would have worked, except of course quietly departing the scene.
Exactly! Fro here on out, it should be fully understood that when cops and ss and security work together, they All know where each person is, and that they all be fully identifiable by markings so that anytime a perp shows up wearing civi,Ian clothing, the ss and security won’t wonder whether or not it is one of their own, and shoot the perp and ask questions later. Someone crawling around on a roof with a rifle should have set off alarms and be viewed as a breach in the perimeter, and be a hard “oh hell no!” By security who would then be cleared to shoot and ask questions later because of the fsct that the perp had a gun.
Also, the ss should have IMMEDIATELY called to the ss near trump to surround him until the perceived threat is dealt with- immediately! No excuse for them to have remained silent while they hemmed and hawed about the situation- NO REASON for them to have “waited till the gunman opened up first” without ss warning the president!
The crowd would have gladly waited till things got sorted out so the lresident could resume his speech, knowing that it was for the protection of president Trump.
What the heck was the ss thinking?
The local cops aren’t trained in that mindset. I wonder if most of the local cops were even allowed to carry firearms at the event.
What if the perp dresses like a national guard soldier? Everything you need to look like that is available online.

Exactly! I’ve said. That from the start- why in theaorld did they not inform the ss near Trump that there was a possible threat? Trump should have been surrounded IMMEDIATELY and taken to the vehicle while the perp was still crawling to the edge of the building!
The fsct that they didn’t want president Trump was a colossal failure that nearly cost president Trump his life. Either it was intentional not informing ss, and or ss not responding by surround president Trump immediately, or it was gross incompetence. There is no other possible explanation unless im missing something.
Good way to get yourself drilled by SS, their eyes all on you now.
The ss still should have warned the ss near president Trump and evacuated him until it could be confirmed who was on the roof, and had thei4 sites on the perp the whole time.
So what? To save the President life? If you are not showing arms they will not shoot. These people are incompenent, we have to think for them.
Extreme incompetence at its worst. No heads will roll, this is the new generation of so called leaders, they will point fingers, that will be the extent of this total and complete failure to do their #1 job.

And the point was, he wasn’t dressed like cops, security or ss or guards- he was wearing civilian clothing and crawling on a roof that was not secured.
What is? My spelling? 😆 but yeah, 1 shot from the perp triggers a massive ss response while the president is safely in the car and put of sight.
Creeps learn from other creeps. The next time who knows? They could be dressed just like LEO or National guard.....
One shot from the sniper team, even into the air, and the president is safely in the car and put of sight.
