Someone crawling around on a roof with a rifle should have set off alarms and be viewed as a breach in the perimeter, and be a hard “oh hell no!” By security who would then be cleared to shoot and ask questions later because of the fsct that the perp had a gun.
Also, the ss should have IMMEDIATELY called to the ss near trump to surround him until the perceived threat is dealt with- immediately! No excuse for them to have remained silent while they hemmed and hawed about the situation- NO REASON for them to have “waited till the gunman opened up first” without ss warning the president!
The crowd would have gladly waited till things got sorted out so the lresident could resume his speech, knowing that it was for the protection of president Trump.
