US President Joe Biden has condemned the assassination attempt on his predecessor Donald Trump in a primetime address from the White House, telling Americans that US politics must never be a "killing field". Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for president, was wounded in the ear after a gunman opened fire at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. One person was killed and two more were critically injured in the attack.
In the Oval Office address - just the third of his presidency - Mr Biden urged Americans to "take a step back" and warned that "political rhetoric in this country has gotten very heated". "No matter how strong our convictions, we must never descend into violence," Mr Biden said in remarks that lasted just under seven minutes.
His short, but forceful, address largely went off without a hitch, amid ongoing scrutiny following a number of high-profile verbal slips. In his primetime address, the president called on Americans to come together and warned that increasing political polarisation meant November's election would be "a time of testing". Mr Biden and Trump remain locked neck-and-neck in opinion polls ahead of the election.

Robert Barnes literally went off on Joe Biden and who he is last evening on his podcast with Viva Frei.
Never seen him get that angry.
People are really angry over this and the worst part is they all kind of expected Biden to have nothing left to keep power other than wanting his opponents murdered.
Then came that pathetic presser last night. Made it even worse.
To lower temperature?
Liberals are the ones fueling the hate, hot headedness, psychopathy and violence.
Our side just wants them to stop burning the country to the ground.
I went to a restaurant last night for a pick up order and two Democrat women were discussing the weekend’s events with long faces. One was Asian and one was apparently Jewish. Surprisingly, they invited me into their conversation.
I told them “the president,” (I have never called Biden that before) just made a speech and he was going to double Trump’s security detail, take down all ads calling him Hitler, and was asking that we all behave like neighbors. There was complete silence from them, and the Chinese woman looked ashamed.
I suggest Joe lower his temperature to room temperature.
That just turns my stomach. Even this morning, on Twitter, liberals are unhinged. Makes me realize we’ll wind up physically defending ourselves sooner rather than later.
Actually “reduce the temperature” is more proper, but since we’re dealing with an idiot, I’ll continue the poor usage and just say: Joe should “lower” his own temperature to “room.”
They want unity while that crooked judge in Manhattan puts Trump in jail. These are evil, hate-filled slugs that have done this to our country. They don’t deserve unity.
Just a week earlier, he said “We need to put a bullseye on Donald Trump.”
As Billy Joel once sang, “we didn’t start the fire.”

I agree they need to turn down the temperature.
Apologize for all the lies, take responsibility for the attempted murder of Trump; take responsibility for the attack of Steve Scalise and the Republican congressmen.
Then the temperature will go down.
