I thought I read a report that a police officer climbed up on the roof (I assume shortly after this) but the the gunman pointed his rifle at him and to backed off

Wow - haven’t seen this video yet. Bystanders very clearly spot the shooter crawling on the roof and are calling out to law enforcement, trying to get their attention, well before he starts firing.
It was a permanent ladder attached to the building for service access to the roof, not some extension ladder put up for temporary use.
How did the SS not see him!!!!>>> The SS snipers had him targeted. They waited for him to shoot at least 4 round before taking him out. I think they were hoping they guy took out Trump before they tied up the loose end.

Well, because it was inconvenient to see him until after he fired.
And since he missed, well shucks gotta go do our jobs now.

This is the level of gross negligence where security personnel should be going to jail. Like whoever was in charge of the Secret Service security detail really needs to be perp walkedfor gross negligence.
This is not a matter of Monday morning quarterbacking this is a simple matter of acknowledging that literally the closest structure to where Trump was speaking, was uncovered and unsecure. You could lget a shaved monkey in a suit and shades to know to secure that building and it was not.

Yes, Biden and the people controlling Biden can spin the narrative all they want, but the fact remains that the roof of a building that had a clear sight of Trump had ZERO police personnel on that roof.
