If they really feel that way, then there is no point in changing their candidate, just let Biden take the fall.
I agree, the demonrats are toast no matter who they run. It’s not the nominee, it’s the party.

For one thing, the assassination attempt makes current dem strategy untenable. They can't continue with their hate strategy - Trump is Hitler; stop him at any price; Trump is a violent threat, etc.
Dems have to give up their hate card but they can't switch to a policy debate strategy because they can't win on issues.
Dems can only attempt to minimize losses down ballot and come back in four years.
In terms of eternity, four years is not much time for Satan.
