A man with a rifle could be seen on a rooftop minutes before shots were fired at a Donald Trump rally in Pennsylvania, a witness has told the BBC.
Greg, the witness, said the man was armed with a rifle and had crawled on top of a building just outside the event in Butler County on Friday evening.

"We noticed the guy bear-crawling up the roof of the building beside us, 50ft away from us," he said.
"He had a rifle, we could clearly see a rifle.
"We're pointing at him, the police are down there running around on the ground, we're like 'Hey man, there's a guy on the roof with a rifle'... and the police did not know what was going on."
Greg said he pointed at the gunman for three to four minutes to try to alert the authorities.
"We were telling the police, we were pointing at him for the Secret Service who were looking at us from the top of the barn."

I must agree with Jumper. It would be the height of incompetence to assume that there was only one shooter, and if that one shooter was dead everyone should now take it easy.
I don’t (yet) see some sort of conspiracy involving the Secret Service. But those folks are professionals. They dropped the ball today, if for no other reason that they didn’t pick up a guy with a rifle on a rooftop.

The shooter was outside the perimeter. And the SS agents on stage reacted as quickly as I would expect in the “fog of war”.
Not anymore.
The perimeter was less than 152 yards (the distance from the roof to the stage). That’s criminal negligence. How do you not clear an area beyond close rifle range?
And then again, Trump was trying to get his shoes back on.
I am not slamming Trump—people focus on weird stuff when they are disoriented and scared—but they seemed to be trying to get him moving.
I am not going to second guess those guys. I couldn’t do what they do.
Security perimeter should be more like 500 yards, one would think.
Why no communications with the agents at the platform?

I won’t fault you for that. Even well-trained individuals can freeze or behave in a subpar manner when under great and unexpected stress.
But at a minimum, the public deserves a quick and full accounting of what happened here, warts and all. We probably will not get that accounting.

Late in the ‘16 campaign Trump had to give up going into any large American city for a rally because of democrat violence. He started flying into these venues so he and his supporters were safe from the democrat goons. You can’t escape them.
