After decades of becoming increasingly rare, the military draft is back in the debate.
Israel—which has long had mandatory conscription—is currently debating whether or not to lengthen its service for reservists as a result of its ongoing war against Hamas and Hezbollah, and it may soon expand the draft to the currently exempted ultra-Orthodox population following an Israeli Supreme Court ruling voiding the exemption last month. In May, Ukraine expanded its draft in order to replenish its forces as it continues to fight off the Russian invasion. Russia has similarly broadened its compulsory military service in response to mounting casualties in Ukraine. In the Baltic states, Latvia reintroduced the draft in 2023 following Russia’s attack on Ukraine; Lithuania reintroduced it in 2015 in response to Russia’s 2014 invasion of Ukraine; Estonia never abolished it. And halfway across the world, Taiwan recently lengthened its conscription period in response to increasingly menacing threats from China.

Even though it has not been declared yet, we are in WWIII. Since DC refuses to back off, yes, we probably need to start a draft. The idiots in DC are getting us into a fight for our lives.

Because it's unconstitutional. Somebody is going to challenge it in the Supreme Court. So the federal government won't dare to do the military draft.
We'll just become like the Romans. We will become more dependent on immigrants to recruit what we need for our military.

If somehow, for some reason, God prevents this from going nuclear, we are going to need a draft. Biden, McConnell, the MIC are fast tracking us to a land war in Europe, sans the proxies. It will be an exceptionally good Ukrainian Army, our 200,000 or so actual fighting men and our Euroweenie allies, minus Turkey, versus the best trained and equipped 2 million man army on earth plus China, Iran and the NORKS. Kinda like the Jaws scene, we’re gonna need a bigger army.

Look at Vietnam. The government was able to conscript 2 million soldiers for the war.
No, EVERYBODY, including girls, who will serve in equal numbers in all capacities, including infantry, Speical Forces, etc.
It will be the glorious triumph of equality -- no, EQUITY -- when girls are slaughtered at the front lines in equal numbers as boyz. And if more girls are killed than boyz, then the U.S. will have to kill their own boyz until it evens out.

I was lucky number thirteen - July 8th. I was long since home from Vietnam and didn’t really care about it.
Back in 1960, the average person trusted the government. So only the hippies resisted the draft. Everyone else wanted to do their patriotic duty.
Who the heck trusts the government now? Put on a uniform to defend your country, and you just might be sent to some worthless hellhole in Central Asia.
Everyone from the hippies to the good ol’ boys on the farm will resist a new draft. And rightly so.

There wasn’t actually a Vietnam War draft, it was just the draft, 33 years of a permanent draft.
The last one to bring up the subject was Rangle in BY-democrat. Let them be the one to push it. It’s summer. School’s out. That way the kids won’t freak out en masse. That’s how they do it.
