President Joe Biden admitted during his Thursday NATO press conference that his plan to attach a temporary pier to Gaza to deliver aid was a failure. “I’ve been disappointed that some of the things that I’ve put forward have not succeeded as well, like the port we attached from Cyprus. I was hopeful that would be more successful,” he said. The pier, which cost at least $230 million in American taxpayer funds, was operational for approximately 20 days and delivered about one day’s worth of food, according to one report. Biden announced the pier with great fanfare during his State of the Union speech in March. It took more than 1,000 U.S. troops to implement, with many of them deploying from Virginia to construct it.

Designed for no larger than four foot waves, it would have required breaker walls completely surrounding it. Whomever approved this on the military engineering side f'd up mightily and I'm sure we'll never hear that person identified.

Whether him, her, it or any other.

Do they not understand the concept of helicopters?

But seriously, how do you think our government would react if some third country was providing aid to our enemies in a war?

Usually he has an excuse. Maybe Truman (”The buck stops here”) was among the dead people he talked with.

“Who the hell designed, built, operated, and maintained it?”

The article stated the pier wasn’t designed to handle 4 foot waves. I’m sure the HMFIC was told it wasn’t suitable but the grunts were told to go ahead with it. Purely symbolic.

Our government has become a rude joke. A very very expensive rude joke.
