The Sacramento City Attorney’s Office warned a chain retail store that it could face a public nuisance charge due to a large number of phone calls placed to police when thieves repeatedly stole from its Land Park location.
A person with knowledge of the warning, but not authorized to speak publicly due to the fear of retaliation, told The Sacramento Bee that city officials threatened the Target at 2505 Riverside Blvd. in the past year with an administrative fine. A Sacramento police spokesman confirmed the location — a site that prompted heavy ire from Land Park residents due to repeated crimes — when asked about the apparent warning.
The alleged warning issued by Sacramento city officials — and similar actions by other cities across the state...
The alleged warnings by city officials statewide may affect what crime data is reported as businesses contend with the potential of facing legal action for reporting retail theft, a topic spurring heavy debate in California. Lawmakers have said the unreliable data has caused some skepticism about what, if any, legislation should be passed.

See I also wondered if it should be “The Biden Zone”
Heaven help us if he’s cheated in again with Kamala next in line
A vegetable and an incompetent - at the top echelon tasked with The Football
We’re fortunate that we’ve made it this far
Silly pleb. There are no crimes in paradise.
Anybody here feel sorry for Target? *I* DON’T! Maybe Target can call out the rainbow mafia to protect its stores. Or maybe Target will go out of business. “Street reparations” lol...
The government wants the “oppressed” to steal from you. How dare you expect the police to do anything about it. No. As part of the plan to fundamentally transform America, the government has decreed that your store must welcome the theft.
So don’t call the police, unless it’s about using the wrong pronouns.
Moral:
The Sacramento police have a telephone but no officers to enforce the laws
Smart businesses would move..out of state.
dont dare call us about the crime wave we have put upon you
If only...
“Anybody here feel sorry for Target”
Nope. I’ve hoped for Target’s demise since they kicked out the Salvation Army bellringers ages ago. (Of course, since the SA told us we need to apologize for being white, I’ve done the same thing, basically.)
So calling the police to report a crime is now a nuisance in LibWorld?
Because the police have more important things to do, like helping illegal immigrants colonize American cities and campaigning for democrat pols?
Got it.
Well since they don’t want any calls, how about shoot to kill orders regarding thieves?
Close it down.
I blame Target for their problems as much as the politicians.
There are MANY THINGS a store like Target could do to deal with this crap, but the first thing they have to understand is that stores like Walmart are NOT their enemy, at least not in California’s political climate.
In the case of this store, simply PUBLICIZE the threat, and and then say if they publicly rescind the threat, the store will close down in 6 months.
The reason retailers are in such a big mess is that they have NO CLUE how much power they have, for as much as Leftists love a big government, to this day, as far as I know, there has NEVER been a government-operated store, in any country, that could match Target, Walmart, or typical Supermarkets - NEVER.
If a government like Sacramento hates these stores so much, then they need to PULL-OUT, explain why they’re out, and let the city government answer to its voters, for once.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
More like 3 generations
It is very annoying to answer the telephone all the time. I think we will just ignore it.
We are running out of people to kick out. I hope I don’t get kicked out...just sayin’.
...shoot thieves.
