Back in the USSR. Are We the Soviets Now?
Dr. Robert Malone ^ | July 05, 2024 | Dr. Robert Malone

Posted on 07/05/2024 8:57:10 AM PDT by Chad C. Mulligan

Fascinating point of view regarding the current political situations in the USA and Europe from across the Atlantic. This is not for those who want a quick, pre-digested overview but rather provides a deep intellectual dive into an alternative narrative that differs sharply from the approved.

I recommend that Americans pay particular attention to his comments on the current malaise that has swept the country, DEI, Cold War II, and the consequences of the US Federal Budget Deficit.

Personally, I do not agree with everything Niall Ferguson says in this interview, but I really appreciated the opportunity provided by the British publication Unherd to listen, learn, and ponder his perspectives. Of course, Unherd has been heavily censored by the powers that be, which many of us now see as a pointer towards media outlets that we should consider supporting.

I hope you enjoy this interview as much as I did. I have had it transcribed for those who prefer reading or clipping quotes.

This is actually a TRANSCRIPT of a lengthy interview with historian Niall Ferguson. No need to sit through a video. As Dr. Malone said, I don't agree with all of Ferguson's opinions either, but it'll make you think.

I’m not a political scholar. I didn’t live in Soviet Russia. I am aware of some differences between today’s USA and the USSR, but the gap is narrowing. The ignorance of the public, and the media’s mindless adherence to their party is the closest parallel.

If Trump doesn’t win, the answer is “yes”.

We are and, incredibly, you're backing the globalist elite that are turning us into the equivalent of the old Soviet Union.

You don't seem to grasp that primary reason Trump has consistently been undermined is because he wouldn't sign on the proxy war in Ukraine and the neocon foreign policy you love so much.

Yes we are. Except we are spoiled ignorant consumerism communists. A real paradox. We want the authoritarian abuse your enemy kinda communism, while still demanding six brand selections of peanut butter and drive-thru meals.

Communism without the hard edge of spartan experiences.

Setting a new record for making a irrelevant attack without having read the interview.

We are becoming a hybrid of Orwell’s “1984” and Huxley’s “Brave New World”.

“1984” focused on a totalitarian state while Huxley focused on an over medicated stupid population.

Absolutely.

No matter what, we’re headed into chaos like we never imagined. States are going to start leaving the Union.

I don’t believe it’s valid to compare the Soviet Union of old to the US today due to differences in educational standards and cultural issues.

We even have the decrepit old leader who has to be propped up with scripted and fake TV appearances, just like the USSR.

I don’t know if it’s sad or funny, but when I was in high school we used to law fun of the Soviet Union for the kind of crap that has become commonplace in the U.S. today.

In the USSR the LGBTQRXYZ bunch would be hauled off to the Gulag-if they were lucky.

It’s a bit disrespectful. It’s like saying your bad camping experience was just like Auschwitz.

Very early in the interview it is framed “Are we the baddies?”

We are pushing and exporting the following moral code.

Abortion is a right.
Gay is right
Promiscuity is a right.
Gender mutilation is a right.
DEI is good.
Sex and skin color define a person.
The planet is everything.

To determine whether we are the baddies we should ask God.

“It’s very hard to find another example of an advanced economy where life expectancy declines, where mortality amongst young males rises. And I’ve been thinking for a while, “Why is this trend in the United States familiar?”
...
It was in the Soviet Union in the 1980s and then in Russia after the Soviet collapse, that we last saw a dramatic decline in life expectancy and a surge in premature mortality, particularly amongst males.
...
I mean, if you’re a, a white male working class American it, it probably has sunk in that the game is now explicitly rigged against you in the elite, uh, institutions and probably elsewhere too. Uh, and so that, that seems to me quite distinctly Soviet that the elite now has an ideology that is very radically different from the ideology on which the United States were supposed to be based in which you... individuals were equal before the law and opportunity was equal for all.”
