The Dump Biden movement has regained momentum inside the Democratic Party.
We cannot yet say for sure that it will succeed. Team Biden is still digging in to keep their man in contention.
But the ground is slipping from under the President's feet. It could soon be an unstoppable landslide.
By this time next week, the Democrats could be looking for a new presidential candidate. Or still ripping themselves apart over whether they should be.
I spoke to two senior Democrats today, one an experienced election strategist, the other on Joe Biden's staff when he was vice president.
Both were unequivocal: Biden should withdraw and make way for someone else.
A third Democratic operative was even more blunt: 'Everybody wants him to quit.'
It is the new mood music of a troubled party, even if only a handful, like Rep Lloyd Doggett (Dem, Texas) and Raul Grijalva (Dem, Arizona), are prepared to say publicly that Biden must pull out.
Of course, these are barely household names, even in their own households. But behind them is a wall of names poised to follow suit.
The moment more do, the dam will burst and Biden's position will be untenable.
Even some senior Democrats Biden met behind closed doors to shore up his position, like Governors Jared Golden (Maine) and Marie Perez (Washington), told him they thought he'd lose to Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, House Democrats are busy exchanging draft letters of varying 'Dump Biden' intensity.

There really is a third option—Open Convention—no endorsements.
I am not saying I think the Democrats will go there—but it is a legitimate and possible option.
Initially I thought Joe could ride this out, burn a bunch of cash early on anti Trump ads, while giving Biden some easy assignments.
The problem is, there are no easy assignments for a person in Biden’s condition. Everything that they think up that should be easy for any politician, could end up as another embarrassing situation for Brandon.
Unless Biden can turn it around in a week or two, he’s done.
Then we focus on a real lightweight named Kamala Harris.
I see where Marie Glusenkamp-Perez has been promoted (in this article) to governor of the State of Wahington. Hardly. She is a first-term representative who should easily be voted out in November were it not for mail-in balloting.
Biden may be old, slow, not sure where he is/what he is/who he is, BUT he knows darn well the fraud machine is oiled and ready to churn out all the votes needed to put the Dim candidate over the top. He isn’t wanting to walk away from another sure fire guaranteed election victory.
FJB will drop out if Harris agrees to take Hunter Biden as her VP.
I think his dementia has gotten so bad now that the drugs they give him no longer work and they didn’t realize it until it was too late.
His state of the union speech was March 7th so in 4 months he’s become much worse. If he stays in the race, by September I doubt he’s going to be able to even mumble by then so I wouldn’t be surprised from to till then he suddenly has “an untimely accident” or a “heart attack”
Oh, snap.
Exactly. They touted him as the best and most intelligent person in the history of the presidency, up until the debate made it clear they could no longer hide it. They own this mess.
Bring on Big Michael.
It’s a long way to the Dem convention.
Advocating for removal of Biden, or discussing whether Democrats should force him out, is not permitted. Joe Biden is the Democratic nominee and is protected by DU's "Don't bash Democratic public figures" rule. Advocating for his removal is currently considered "undermining" our candidate in a general election.
So they are so strict to the party line that no differing opinions are allowed. Amazing. Now I need a shower...
The Rs better have ads ready to go about democracy dying with the Dems replacing a candidate who won their primaries. None of this is a shock the admin and media have been gaslighting the public for years about his fitness to serve. They should be forced to embrace the suck they created.
My prediction:
Everyone knows Biden is out. So, he uses the Snuffy interview to announce he is dropping out.
Snuff regains some of his tarnished status as an influential journalist, and Biden gets a format to wax eloquently and lie about how he is doing it for the country.
Barf bags will be provided.
The beauty of this situation is that it is a dilemma of their own making.
The Democrats ramrod everything through to get whatever shiny object they want next. They don’t care if it’s done by lying, cheating, stealing, or killing. They see the courts as a means to an end rather than a check and balance.
Now they lied to put Biden in office and keep him there. And they can’t easily get rid of him. They pushed to have an unfirable administrative state filled with diversity hires. Now those empowered by being part of the Biden administration do not want to let go of the power.
There are a large number of people riding the Biden gravy train and know it will go away for them if he bows out.
If Biden does not willingly go, it will be next to impossible to remove him from the ticket.
Harris is just as disastrous as Biden and, if Biden does willingly bow out and Harris is passed over, the Democrat ticket will implode.
The Democrats have no good choices. And they don’t deserve any.
The 25th won’t get him off the ticket, if they are able to remove him at all. He will have to die or step down from the office. They really thought that their political persecution to make Trump a felon would have Biden riding high before the debate and Biden would be able to sail through it. They never dreamed that the people would see through the persecution and rally behind him.
Yes it seems to me their primaries have spoken already and its Joe. But the Democrat Party, the party of Tammany Hall, is not shy about scheming and cheating.
