Armed attackers killed a woman in front of her horrified husband as they attempted to rob the couple outside an upmarket Newport Beach mall, police have said.
The 69-year old woman and her husband had been outside a Barnes & Noble at the Fashion Island mall when they were approached by two men at around 3.30 pm on Tuesday.
A 'struggle' ensued, with one of the men fleeing the scene on foot and firing several rounds with a handgun as he did so, according to reports.

There are reasons things were the way they used to be.
I can’t see how law abiding people can be expected to tolerate this constant behavior and remain law abiding. The people doing the acts need to be beaten to a pulp. The “officials” who turn their backs on law abiding citizens should be made vividly aware of potential consequences of their negligence. People need to start policing their own or someone else will come in and do it for them.
When, asked why he robbed banks, Sutton simply replied,
“Because that’s where the money is!”
