Hurricane #Beryl Advisory 14: Beryl Becomes a Potentially Catastrophic Category 5 Hurricane In the Eastern Caribbean. Expected to Bring Life-Threatening Winds and Storm Surge To Jamaica Later This Week
Bullish ~ And I'll betcha' many of the people there haven't learned a damn thing from Katrina.
On Rebuilding New Orleans:
I advocate is turning New Orleans into a giant debris disposal facility.(From my home page, dating back to 2005...)Because of it's location at the mouth of the mighty Mississippi, it is ideally located to accept debris from the entire Mississippi basin and Gulf Coast.
Fill in the entire Crescent City area with enough construction debris, mine tailings, dredging debris, slag, and fly ash to build it up to 30 feet above sea level.
Cover it with 10 feet of dirt, incorporating underground utility grids, a few feet of topsoil, and rebuild on top of that.
Tel New Orleans would become the South's new 'Shining City on a Hill'.
Fund the entire project with fair market rate disposal fees.
Those are outliers, for those not experienced in looking at storm models. This isn’t our storm. There are signs it may come ashore around Brownsville as a TS or cat 1, which wouldn’t be so bad, since SW Texas could use the rain.
That does sound a lot better...
One has to wonder how it's going to affect the influx of illegals.....
Hope they enjoy it.
It will weaken as it gets closer to land. Just how much depends on forward storm speed.
Since it’s hitting perpendicular to the coast, it won’t weaken as much as it would if it went parallel to the coast for a bit before making landfall.
Says someone who lives in the desert.
It's easy to sneer at others when you have never lived through what they have to deal with.
Just like every other hurricane, tornado, blizzard, heat wave, thunderstorm, drop of rain ....
