Russia presses its offensive in Ukraine and issues new threats as the West tries to blunt the push

Slowly but steadily this summer, Russian troops are forging through Ukraine’s outgunned and undermanned defenses in a relentless onslaught, prompting the West to push for new weapons and strategies to shore up Kyiv.

Russia took advantage of its edge in firepower amid delays in U.S. aid to scale up attacks in several areas along the 1,000-kilometer (600-mile) front. Relatively small units are probing Ukrainian defenses for weak spots, potentially setting the stage for a more ambitious push.

Meanwhile, Russia has made incremental but steady advances in the Donetsk region, including around the strategic hilltop town of Chasiv Yar, a gateway to parts of Donetsk still under Ukrainian control. Analysts say the fall of Chasiv Yar would threaten the key military hubs of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.

At a millimeter a minute!

Yep, at that rate the Russians can go from Dnipro to Kiev in one year.

Debate fall out. Perhaps, Putin needs to be done with Ukraine before January 20th.

I have never been one of those who thought Trump was going to give Ukraine to Putin

Trump gave javelins not blankets
Trump said NATO countries should spend more on defense
Trump told Europe being dependent on Putin for energy was a bad idea

As to trusting Putin over his own “intelligence” agencies, sadly I would agree with Trump in that one.

But of course Trump
is a big fat liar /s

The objective is not territory, but rather, the destruction of the Ukrainian military.

I’d say there’s much truth to your remarks.

Who’s in charge of the US has much to do with what goes on elsewhere in the world. I recall Iran’s reaction to Reagan going into office with regards to hostages.

Putin needs to gain as much territory as possible before a Trump presidency forces a settlement.

Same goes for the deep staters raking money off of the Ukraine billions. More money needs to go to Ukraine before inauguration day to top off the off shore accounts.

It’s so sad for the average Ukrainian. On one end they have the Ruskies killing them and on the other end they have the NWO profiting by the war and wanting it to keep going for ever.

“Russia took advantage of its edge in firepower amid delays in U.S. aid to scale up attacks in several areas along the...front.”

I guess we’ll have to put up with this campaign rhetoric until at least the election. The bottom line is that the 6 month delay without the US sending weapons only existed due to the US being out of weapons, it was basically a deal between the Neocons in both parties to buy time while we managed to get some newly-produced weapons out the door.

At least that’s how I see it, based on the simple fact that European countries could have bought weapons from us during those 6 months, had the weapons existed, and thereby neutralized the effect of the delay - but they didn’t, at least as far as I can tell.

Russia took advantage of its edge in firepower amid delays in U.S. aid

So they want Americans to believe that the only thing that delayed weapons to Ukraine was a Republican sponsored $60bn dollar check, written on borrowed taxpayer money. As if our arms merchants couldn't have sent the weapons first and let the money catch up later. I guess it's cash on the barrelhead with these merchants of death.

I read they are also focused on taking out airfields that NATO F-16s might be able to use.

Meanwhile, the Ukies are in a panic, the US to. The joint US Ukie attack on beach goers in Sevastopol with US cluster bombs has basically turned the tide.

That terror attack has been condemned by nations across the globe. Judging by St Z’s most recent speech, frightened and changing his tune ( he finally acknowledged the severe losses the Ukies have suffered) to negotiations, senile Joe’s disastrous Ukie war will be soon wrapping up.

Question is, does Vlad ( and the Russian people) allow the US and Ukies to get away with premeditated murder? One thing is certain, the Ukies and the US will pay a high price for the Sevastopol blunder.
