President Biden is still committed to the second debate against Donald Trump despite his abysmal showing on Thursday night.
Biden, 81, will return to the debate stage in September, CNN Senior White House Correspondent Kayla Tausche reported Friday morning, citing an advisor.
Biden is also not considering dropping out of the race – despite concerns from members of his own party.
The octogenarian repeatedly froze and misspoke during the Thursday debate, which left doubts in the minds of even the most hopeful viewers about his mental and physical fitness.
“This was a disaster for Biden. Many Democrats are looking for a new candidate after this debate,” Doug Muzzio, a retired public affairs professor at Baruch College, told The Post.
“Biden was tentative, rambling and sometimes incoherent,” he said.
At one point early in the debate, the incumbent appeared to lose his train of thought for a glacial nine seconds – only to finally look up and say that he “finally beat Medicare.”
The apparent gaffe gave Trump, 78, the perfect in.
“Well, he’s right. He did beat Medicare. He beat it to death and he’s destroying Medicare because all of these people who are coming in, they’re putting them on Medicare,” Trump retorted.
“If I knew nothing about Donald Trump before that debate and judged him solely on that performance, I’d vote for him,” one Democratic source told The Post.

Trump should refuse further debates...claiming that it makes him look guilty of elder abuse and that could damage his image.
Trump should refuse the 2nd debate out of respect of the elderly....LOL.
I wish Trump had brought up gas prices and other everyday issues affecting everyone negatively after Biden’s inauguration. Maybe he’s saving them for later.
They will circle the wagons. Nothing is going to happen unless the polling cycle shows Trump with a 20 point lead. This morning after reaction will not decide anything.

It’s very hard to move the polling needle. The RCP average is a small Trump lead. It would be very hard for that to increase because the Trump haters on the left are voting against him and don’t care who the Dem is.
The media will spend the weekend “examining responses in depth” and declare that first reactions were wrong. Biden was brilliant blah blah.
They will circle the wagons. There is only one thing that could get Biden yanked and that is a polling freefall PLUS clear evidence it is affecting the down ticket races.

I hope Trump refuses anymore debates. He can say Biden has several screws loose and he doesn’t want to make him look any worse than he does now.
Biden/Jill will not step aside until or unless they give them an offer they can’t refuse.

No amount of prepping (apparently five days with 16 handlers for this past debate) - will be able to overcome old Joe’s feebleness and dementia, all on display last night. Drugs could not overcome this!
Hope he appears for another debate so he can embarrass himself and his Democrat base further.
