Bill Maher ripped into the “aggressively anti-common sense” left and casually predicted a Donald Trump victory during an appearance this week at the Aspen Ideas Festival.
Maher participated in a talk with English journalist Tina Brown in which he called out modern political tribalism and at one point ripped into younger liberals so much that Brown had to tell the comedian and Real Time host he’s “very cantankerous” as he continued on.
Maher argued Democrats are doing themselves no favors ahead of November’s presidential election.
“Part of it the left has to own. They are aggressively anti-common sense,” he said. “The Democrats keep running on this one idea, saying to the American people, ‘You can’t possibly think you can do worse than Donald Trump.’ And they keep saying, ‘Yes, we can. Yes, we can.'”
Maher at one point asked the audience if any of them were Trump supporters. The room stayed quiet. Maher argued there were absolutely Trump supporters in the audience, but they weren’t comfortable coming forward as Trump supporters in that group. The same awkward silence would be the response at a NASCAR race if he were to ask for people to admit being to being supporters of President Joe Biden.
This sort of tribalism, he argued, is leading to more extremism in politics.
Maher’s rant against the left’s role in feeding tribalism led him to younger liberals, a group he’s often open about his disdain for.
“Tear down statues of Lincoln? Maybe give communism another shot? Get rid of the border patrol? Get rid of capitalism? White supremacy has never been worse? Gender is always just a social construct? It’s okay to have penises in the women’s swimming pool, in women’s prisons?’ No, it’s not that I’m old; it’s that your ideas are stupid,”...

Well, theres certainly nothing elitist sounding about any of that. Lol!
And yet the fraud still plans on voting for them. Bill Maher’s phony middle of the road, common sense routine got old about 20 years ago.
Bill Maher is the left’s version of controlled opposition. His purpose is to keep Democrats, who may have doubts about their party, from leaving. His tactic is to acknowledge the left’s faults so he can appear reasonable to the more reasonable Democrats out there, only to lead them back with “But we have no choice. We have to vote Democrat because the Republicans are Hitler, etc.”
I remember when Maher was firmly on the left. I don’t know if he has moved right or that liberals have move so far left that he will not follow.

Trump is a 1990’s democrat.
Ronald Reagan was a 1930’s democrat until the democrat party moved leftward in the 1940’s. Reagan then became a republican.
Reagan’s way of putting it was that he didn’t leave the democrat party. The democrat party left him.
Same with Trump.

Nobody is volunteering for lifetime cancellation by the “tolerant” and “diverse” left.
The same is true for public opinion polls. I am guessing that Trump supporters tend to refuse to participate. Or if they do, they hide their preferences.

Americans better hope Trump wins;. America cannot stand 4 more years of Obozo, Klain and Biden running the Country another four years.
No one admitted to be a Trump supporter because they knew they’d be pounded into the floor.
When tomorrow comes he'll say something different. Because he's a performer.
Maher keeps lying about not voting for Trump. It’s becoming harder and harder to believe him.
The identity politics the Dems went all in led to all of this.
