A wave of San Diego beaches have been shut down following a disgusting discovery in the water.
City health officials released an updated advisory and closure list of beaches due to sewage creating frighteningly high levels of bacteria in the open waters.
Water contact closures were issued for Silver Strand Shoreline, Imperial Beach Shorelines, and the Tijuana Slough Shoreline, along the U.S, Mexico border.
Advisories were issued for the La Jolla, Children's Pool, Coronado, Coronado Lifeguard Tower, the Ocean Beach, Dog Beach, the San Diego River outlet, Mission Bay, North Cove, and Vacation Isle.
In Imperial Beach, the number one dirtiest beach in the country, bright yellow warning signs have been placed on the sand as sewage has been flowing in from Tijuana, Mexico, KGTV reported.

nobody in the world jumps thru hoops to protect the "environment" except the US and what do we get?...all the air pollution from China and the poop from Mexico.
Idiots, huh? It's spelled "Empirical." Definition: derived from or guided by direct experience or by experiment, rather than abstract principles or theory.
In other words, if the water smells like sh!t and tastes like sh!t and looks like sh!t, chances are good it is full of sh!t.
I hate to disappoint you but “Imperial” is a perfectly good word, an adjective which means relating to an emperor or empire.
Imperial Beach is a real place you can find on a map.
They've probably had the funding all along and wasted it this entire time, as most do.
Then their situation becomes drastic and they whine for, and get, extra funding that ends up mostly lining someone else's pockets.
Another gift from Mexico, enjoy California, sh## in the streets sh## on the beach
Getting tar all over myself as a kid from the natural off-shore oil leaks ended any interest in ever going to CA beaches again. They’ve always been disgusting, the sewage just makes them worse.
Travel south from the Hotel del Coronado to Imperial Beach and you will feel like you fell into a Tijuana septic tank.
This has always been the case. This was true in the mid 90s when I lived in San Diego. Tijuana just dumps their sewage into the Pacific. Swimming in the ocean near San Diego is like swimming in a toilet. I never went into the Pacific for this reason.
One of the best scenes from Caddyshack.
Imperial Bech. My god-daughter married a navy doctor who did his residency at San Diego. Turns out, it was cheaper to get a $800K mortgage than finding a place to rent. Best they could do was Imperial Beach, and she likes it because it’s “really close to the beach”. Wonder how she’s liking it now.
“California is home to three of the most polluted beaches in the country, according to a recent survey conducted by the Surfrider Foundation”
They are also home to five of the top ten polluted cities in America. Very progressive I might add.
Mexico has been sending us the human debris from all over the world. Fitting they now send us their sewage.
Back in the old days, all that would be considered and act of war and Mexico would have become a U. S territory.
Isn’r that where the SEALS train?
Thanks for posting. Health/life BUMP.
California has been turning to crap for decades.
I’m in Myrtle Beach. Absolutely love it.
