CLAIM: White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed Tuesday that grocery prices went down under President Joe Biden’s leadership.
VERDICT: False.
“Food prices jumped 6.3% in 2021, and 10.4% in 2022. In 2023, food-price increases slowed, with the index up 2.7%,” TheStreet reported.
To put that in perspective, Yahoo News reported that “a basket of groceries that cost $100 in November 2020 would now set you back $125.80.”
Prices continue to rise despite the slowing rate of inflation.

Her schtick is just plain insulting. . . . I get angry just listening to her delivery that is full of flat-line ignorance while landing on her audience in a decidedly condescending tone. . . infuriating to me.

I actually think Jean-Pierre doesn’t understand basic math. Her handler probably told her to say that the rate of inflation went down. She took that that to mean that inflation itself went down.
But the inflation numbers are all fake. Everyone knows that. So as Hillary might say, what difference at this point does it make?
I hope they’ve been feeding that line to SloJoe all this week in prep for the debate.

Yes. That’s part of it.
Some people are really stupid. Some don’t challenge propaganda when it’s a mouthpiece from ‘their side’ say it.
But more than anything, it’s arrogance.
They know that they can say what they want, and they wont be challenge on it. At least not right there on the spot (unless you count Ducey, when he is actually called on).
They can be challenged on it by the free media and the social media, but that’s an echo chamber for the people who are already intelligent enough to know the lie when they hear it and don’t need it to be challenged.
So what you have is, a voice at the podium not just propagandizing, but blatantly lying, all because the media permits at at the least, and propagates it as standard operating procedure. Nothing anyone can do to stop the lies.

In Biden math the change from 10.4% increase in 2022 to a 2.7% increase in 2023 (if you accept their numbers) is a decrease. Get it?
Just like reducing the increase in the budget is a “cut”. We’ve seen this movie before.
Maybe for Collard Greens and Ham Hocks.
