I’m sorry this thread annoys you.
You seem annoyed, it is a military thread, I have offered clarification.
I am curious why you picked her as the hero of that ambush, did you look into her decorations before choosing her?
Did you know about Walters? I am sincerely curious why you chose her as the hero to make a thread about?
She was originally “featured” many years ago. We do these threads every Monday year round. If you would like to do a thread on someone of your choice, please let me know when. They are posted every Sunday at 9p ET and 5p Alaska time.
I accepted the fact you didn’t like that she was on this thread. I used your clarification to look up, and post, about Sgt Donald Walters as I did not know about him.
I’ve been on many of your threads, I am confused about this one, you say you have featured her as a hero before?
I never saw you pick someone who never fired a shot in combat and who didn’t earn any valor awards presented as a war hero, especially someone who was part of a unit with some who did engage the enemy.
Even the description leaves out all of the dead and wounded male soldiers who went down fighting.
“”SPC Lori Ann Piestewa (December 14, 1979 March 23, 2003) was a U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps soldier killed during the same Iraqi Army attack in which fellow soldiers Shoshana Johnson and Jessica Lynch sustained injuries.””
Sleep for 8 hours? That would be divine, wouldn’t it? LOL Couldn’t tell you when that last happened here.
Get those naps in when you can. They help.
You have made it quite clear that you do not approve of her being on this thread, and you are certainly entitled to your opinion.
As noted at the top of the thread, the information came from...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lori_Piestewa
Not always the best information, but that is the source.
Again, I am sorry you disapprove, but I am done arguing with you. I acknowledged your disapproval. I looked up the soldier you suggested. And I posted about him.
And I repeat my offer of you doing a thread that has someone about whom you approve. It would be most welcomed. Good night.
You are repeating yourself, if you read her record at Wikipedia then why the thread, and did you say this is a repeat thread for her as a war hero?
We are under a Heat Advisory today so we will do an early trip to the lake today. Yesterday at the lake:
How's everyone doing this morning?
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
It looks like Gizmo almost wished you’d gone out earlier yesterday. Looks like it was mighty toasty.
Y’all be careful while the heat advisory is in effect. We don’t want either of you to fall out. No fun!
Good evening, E...((HUGS))...you guys be careful in that heat.
Gizmo looks like he enjoyed your outing yesterday at the lake. Thank goodness for water. I’m betting Gizmo really enjoys it.
This thread is not intended to dishonor anyone. If you come here every week you will see that the thread honors many MEN heroes but not many women. This one was honoring a female military person so that they are NOT forgotten.
If you know of other women heroes in this conflict, please feel free to mention them here.
Well, I’m getting pretty OLD, but I just saw the Stones in Concert, and Mick and Kieth are still rocking, so I guess there’s still hope!
:-)
Is it hotter in Anchorage than it is in Boston? You could fry eggs on the Mass Pike yesterday.
Is it time to slip into something more comfortable?
I got a new Jersey. Will that be cooler?
Idaho.
Alaska.
Afternoon everyone.
No intent to dishonor anyone serving (where did you get that?), all to the contrary.
The point is that to consider Any engagement as ‘heroism’ diminishes the concept of heroism.
Those who serve are ‘heroes’ but not inherently HEROES.
Good afternoon, CMS...hope your Monday is going well.
This week is being a very rough one for me. Saturday is going to be pure hell for me mentally. it would have been Leslie and I’s 17th anniversary
