According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, the man faces up to 10 years in federal prison if convicted.
HOUSTON — The U.S. Attorney's Office Southern District of Texas announced that 34-year-old Dr. Eithan Haim of Rockwall, Texas, has been indicted for obtaining protected health information for patients who were not under his care.
According to the attorney's office, the four-count indictment alleges that Haim accessed patient names, treatment codes and the attending physicians from the Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) in Houston without authorization.
The attorney's office says Haim allegedly accessed this information with the intent of causing harm to the children's hospital.

Speaking of Hillary, folks need to remember HIPAA was her work. It was part of Hillary Care, and was the one part that was’t removed from law when rest politically blew up in Bill’s face. Protecting “medical privacy” seemed a good concept... to those who didn’t consider the consequences doing so Hillary’s way. Damn law scares those working in healthcare almost as much as the IRS. The rules are arbitrary and the potential penalties are huge. Yet I’m dubious breaks in “medical privacy” are less than they were before.
Near as I can tell, HIPAA allows everyone in the world to look at your medical records except you.
Beat them severely and see that they get the prison sentence they tried to impose on others.
