Putin arrives in North Korea for first the time in 24 years

Putin, making his first trip to North Korea in 24 years, said in comments that appeared in its state media hours before he landed that he appreciates the country’s firm support of his military actions in Ukraine. The Kremlin launched a full-scale invasion of the neighboring country in 2022.

He said the countries would continue to “resolutely oppose” what he described as Western ambitions “to hinder the establishment of a multipolar world order based on justice, mutual respect for sovereignty, considering each other’s interests.”

In the North Korean capital of Pyongyang, the streets were decorated with portraits of Putin and Russian flags. A banner on a building said: “We warmly welcome the President of the Russian Federation.”

Putin also said in his published remarks that Russia and North Korea will develop trade and payment systems “that are not controlled by the West” and jointly oppose sanctions against the countries, which he described as “illegal, unilateral restrictions.”

Yeah Russia was never involved with NK and Iran before. Or Syria or China.

Why Putin was a regular for afternoon tea before we chased him over to those bad countries.

Because he has nothing in common with dictatorial murderers.
Except he is one.

Russia was not our friend.

I hope the a-hole eats some bad kimchee or dog and dies slowly and painfully.

Of course, I’d be happy with a plane crash or some shoddy Nork architecture causing the building he’s in to collapse on him.

A big difference is that Trump walked there.

Another is that Trump went there in the name of peace, while Putin is there to get more weapons of death and destruction to continue his immoral war on his neighbor.

sanction your perceived enemy to extremes

LOL, Russia has no one to blame but itself!

We wouldn't even be talking about this now if Russia had just stayed inside its own borders, and not attacked a neighboring country without any provocation

Instead, Russia is bogged-down in a self-created quagmire that is weakening it more every day

"unforced error"

All true, but I think that Trump walking over there should be one of those snapshots of history that should be routinely shown in photos just like we see Ike talking to the paratroops or other photos that we see routinely, instead iconic photos and moments of Republicans rarely appear, George W. at 9/11 with the firemen, etc.

You might want to cut back on the Kool-Aid.
