CHICAGO (WLS) -- The shooting victims from over the weekend range in age from 13 to 57, representing various parts of the city, and the violence has some seeking new solutions.
South Lawndale residents met with police on Monday following a staggering number of weekend shootings.
At least 71 people were shot, nine of them killed, across the city from Friday evening to Monday morning, police said.
"Seventy people being shot is 70 too many. The fact is, we've got work to do. While we're making progress, we've got so much more to do," said 22nd Ward Ald. Mike Rodriguez.
At least two-dozen people were shot during a five-hour period from midnight to 5 a.m. Monday.
Five of them were shot in West Humboldt Park after a large crowd had gathered at a gas station.
The gunfire sent people running in a moment of chaos captured by surveillance cameras.
About an hour later, at least seven people were shot in a barrage of gunfire near 62nd and Winchester in West Englewood.

The mayor is doing a great job of getting a handle on shootings in his city, isn’t he?
Isn’t that what he promised??????
At their aim seems to be improving.
Meanwhile, from Second City Cop...

Check out the bit about the hundreds of undiscovered bodies one summer back in 1995.
Hadn’t heard about that one.
Yikes.
So....um....how are those super duper “gun control” laws work’in out in the Windy City ? Any Master of the Obvious knows criminals nationwide conceal carry without “permits” and do not fill out those cute forms asking if you are a criminal when getting a firearm. Only goody goody’s do that.
"The July 1995 Chicago heat wave led to 739 heat-related deaths in Chicago over a period of five days. Most of the victims of the heat wave were elderly poor residents of the city, who did not have air conditioning, or had air conditioning but could not afford to turn it on, and did not open windows or sleep outside for fear of crime. The heat wave also heavily impacted the wider Midwestern region, with additional deaths in both St. Louis, Missouri and Milwaukee, Wisconsin."
How many of the 71 shot were white???
Jeez louise.
Let’s hear it for Deep State’s war on AC and the elderly, eh?
Mayor was unavailable for comment, he’s at a spa resort get his face cleansed and hair treated……

Looks like lots of books have been cooked for quite a while...
“While we’re making progress, we’ve got so much more to do,”
And just how do you quantify said progress, alderman? It’s a statement not backed by facts in evidence.

It’s all of those bump stocks. If we could just ban bump stocks and have universal background checks.

I might suggest that this is the President’s fault for giving another made up holiday to ‘celebrate’ and shoot each other up. In Ohio they canceled a big celebration to avoid gun violence. Sounds like Chicago could take some tips from Ohio cities.
Oh, now they are seeking solutions. Not last week, last year, last decade. Now. Howzabout they all go home at a reasonable time and spend time with their families.

This can’t be. The Biden circus insist crime is down.

Not to worry, mayor brandon launches a “reparations task force” in Chiraq. Gun shootings should be down dramatically next weekend./S
Everything they do is to deflect from the misery they have created for this once beautiful city.
Murders rise with the summer temps
