A member of the U.S. Secret Service was robbed at gunpoint Saturday night in California during President Joe Biden's high-profile fundraising swing.
Scripps News reported Monday that officers from the Tustin Police Department responded to a call and found that the victim was a member of the Secret Service who had fired off his own gun during the robbery.
It is unclear if the perpetrator was injured and by Monday afternoon the Tustin, California Police Department said it was still investigating the incident.
Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi confirmed to Scripps that a member of the U.S. Secret Service was the victim in the robbery.
'The employee discharged their service weapon during the incident but unknown if the assailants were struck,' Guglielmi said.
'We are thankful that the employee did not sustain any injuries,' he added.
Some of the Secret Service official's belongings have since been found.
The robber escaped in a silver Infiniti, with Tustin police including a photograph of the vehicle, while calling on members of the public to provide tips.
It wasn't immediately clear if the Secret Service employee had been tasked with protecting Biden on the Los Angeles trip.
Biden returned to his hotel Saturday shortly before 9 p.m.
Tustin is located in nearby Orange County, California - and police responded to the call at 9:36 p.m.

A DIE hire?
Tustin, CA...
Where members of the Secret Service get robbed at gunpoint.
I’ve been getting fundraising ads from Biden with a personal message and a pay link, asking me to donate to his campaign, because Orange Man Bad is Bad!!!!! I tried going to the pay link and writing “f@#$u” in the amount, but they wanted credit card info, so I let it be.
Has this happened to anyone else?
This is what I think happened...The US Secret Service agent was coming from Los Angeles County to his house in Tustin...Secret Service field office is in Downtown Los Angeles...Robbers decided to follow him home, unaware that he is a US Secret Service agent...
Back in 1980, two US Secret Service agents were attacked by robbers near LAX...One agent was killed...Agent Julie Cross...Her killer was sentenced to death...

Good movie(s).
Hell, even I always carry, WTF?
I live in the Florida Keys now, but have lived in each “corner” of Florida. (Jacksonville, Pensacola, Key West area and Highlands County—in the middle).
From recent travels, Florida is becoming “filled up”, and most Florida newbies live in air-conditioned comfort.
Look into Martin County first, as it seems the most well-run. Radio host Dan Bongino lives there, and raves about the place.
The SS didn’t want to shoot a Biden voter.
Tustin used to be a quiet little burb next to Anaheim. Times change.
Maybe the agent needs to be re-trained. Back to target practice.
It’s clear that the federal government cannot be trusted with firearms.
An easy target.
I doubt that the criminals would want to try to rob a guy who looks like an actual Secret Service agent.
