A black man with the last name of Muhammad getting preferred treatment. Welcome to today’s America in a lot of it.

“Spanner”? That’s not an American term. I don’t know an American that would call a wrench a “spanner”.

https://sfist.com/2024/06/14/victim-in-brutal-alleged-sf-firefighter-on-firefighter-attack-speaks-out-story-even-crazier-than-we-realized/
NBC Bay Area reported in March 2023 that alleged victim Gabriel Shin was given a “direct order to end his cooperation” with the Oakland Police Department and to drop all of the charges. Shin refused, and was let go by the department, while Muhammad is still very much employed by the department and being paid with your tax dollars.
Shin was let go by the department, Muhammed continues to work for them. Shin’s civil suit against the department says the department “treated Shin with startling prejudice and Muhammad with baffling favor from the outset because they saw one difference: Shin is Asian and Muhammad is Black.”

The perp’s name and skin color tell you all you need to know about why he’s still employed with the FDSF and his VICTIM is not.

The attacker: Robert Muhammad
To: lowbridge
I just watched the entire news segment. What a travesty. Black moslem firefighter attempts to murder an Asian descent firefighter colleague for no reason whatsoever. Violent, short-tempered black guy still has his firefighter job. Asian firefighter lost his job AND the fire department got his health insurance cancelled after the attack.
Mr. Shin had to move away from his home in Oakland and go out of state due to PTSD (I'd be fearful nutjob Muhammad would come back to finish the job, too). I doubt Mr. Shin will ever work as a firefighter again with the severe injuries he sustained.
This is outrageous. I hope Mr. Shin wins big. Muhammad should be in prison.

Watch the 6-minute news video interview with the victim on the site which details the case. It is clear that the attacker (Robert Muhammad) is being treated with kid gloves because of his enhanced melanin. The Asian victim, Gabriel Shin, indicates that he was pressured by the SF Fire Department to drop the charges and that his attacker continues to work for the SFFD and hasn't been disciplined in any way. The same attacker also tried to chase down a process server in traffic at high speeds after being served, prompting the server to call 911.
This DEI hire who attacked his colleague clearly has anger management and violence issues but is being shielded because he is in a "protected group". The victim doesn't appear to be pulling any punches in the lawsuit against the city, clearly mentioning the attacker's melanin content and suggesting that is a factor in the city's refusal to discipline him.

What if the neighbor didn’t work against human trafficking? Would that have meant being brought up on gun charges?

The city of San Francisco isn't trying to get Gabriel Shin to drop charges against Robert Muhammad because Robert Muhammad is "protected". They're trying to get him to drop the charges because if Robert Muhammad is found guilty, Gabriel Shin has even more weight in any lawsuit against city because Robert Muhammad used a work computer at the station to retrieve Gabriel Shin's work schedule and home address before taking a hydrant wrench (tool from the workplace) and leaving the station to attack Gabriel Shin.
The failure of the San Francisco Fire Department to protect Gabriel Shin's personal information is a contributor to his injuries.
Gabriel Shin needs to sue the snot out of the city of San Francisco.

Sounds like aggravated assault.
