The author probably wrote most of this book a long while ago. And the publisher decided to promote it now. The author is happy that a Kennedy is in the news for book sales. The publishing company is a propaganda company, as most American publishing companies are. So, they put some money behind this book because it nudges the country away from idolizing Kennedys.
Getting into Vietnam was not the problem, the problem was the infiltration by the Communists in our institutions had taken root and make the war unwinnable.
We could have won Vietnam easily with our military, but the political will to use the full force of our military was no longer there when you had the media and the academia acting as fifth columnists sabotaging the war from within.
Without JFK, LBJ, and Vietnam the left would not have had the chaos and stirred up masses to work with to break everything.
As far as winning the war “easily”, Red China, Russia, and North Korea may have caused more issues than you are thinking about if you remember the world situation back then.
Nancy Pelosi’s father was really well known and sort of had a good reputation. However, he was blatantly corrupt. Her mother had some business that obviously benefitted from the connections and he was reputed to be involved with ... He probably was sort of friends with JFK, as he was a power in the Democratic Party.
Nancy could have done that sort of thing when she was younger. However, the is a picture of JFK with Bill Clinton, and no one has suggested they were involved.
