INDIANAPOLIS — Before an audience of 400-plus Southern Baptists, former Vice President Mike Pence on Tuesday raised warnings about the shifting direction of the Republican Party but stopped short of denouncing a far-right religious movement rising amid former President Donald Trump’s candidacy for president in November.
"There’s also a very healthy debate within my party about whether we’re going to stay on the course…traditional moral values, a right to life, an affirmation of religious liberty or whether we’re going to start to move in a different direction," Pence said during a luncheon organized by the Southern Baptist Convention's public policy arm, the Nashville-based Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission.
Pence warned against a "different direction" and spoke to the importance of the GOP emphasizing certain traditional policy positions such as fiscal conservatism and defense spending. Many in the room nodded and murmured in agreement with Pence's analysis.

VP Mike Pence shares his story of coming to faith and getting into politics, and eventually giving over that dream to Jesus: “I’m a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican in that order, and every day of my career I sought to be open about that.” @ERLC #SBC24 pic.twitter.com/pcmlvKXaZ2— kate shellnutt (@kateshellnutt) June 11, 2024

mike pence, old guy who said that America was none of his concern.
mike pence, samo samo.
Looks like the Southern Baptist head hogs are too stupid to learn the lessons from the road taken by the United Methodist head hogs.
PISS ON PENCE!
If we don’t watch out, Mike Pence might just leave the Republican Party.
.
Pence says the split in the Republican Party is healthy.
He’s simply trying to say people leaving Trump is a good thing.
The logical extension is a reelected Joe Biden is a good thing for the Republican Party.
.
All the Compromised Republicans are forced to say Deep State Spending is a healthy thing by their DS handlers.

Warning: AOL stirring the pot. I know that reading the article before commenting is not a time-honored tradition here, but you might want to read it before taking the headline too seriously.
Yeah Mike, just shut up and stay in your lane now... You totally blew your chance to be somebody.
Too little, too late.
When you become squishy enough, you get used (even though you’re useless).
You also need to read. READ BETWEEN THE LINES. After everything that has gone on and transpired in the last few months, why is Pence still not endorsing Trump for president? And it’s not AOL.They just reposted a local paper.
Eff Judas Pence.
Eff anyone who looks, smells, walks, or talks likes him.
Let his vile name be gone from amongst us and never mentioned again.
To hell with him and all his fake holy roller followers.
Do not pass GO.
Do not collect $200 or more in political handouts to psuedo-christian radio and other media.
Mr. Pence, what you completely fail to understand is that the support for President Trump is in large measure a repudiation of career politicians - like you. You, the GOP, the Democrats, the current and previous members of the Senate and the House, any and all Presidents - past and present, and anyone whose salary comes from checks cut by the federal government as funded by the taxpayers work for the citizenry and are beholden to the citizenry. You aren’t better than us. How did so many of you lose sight of the fact that seeking office or taking any federal paycheck means you have accepted a role as a servant of the rest of society?
We are your employers, your overseers, your supervisors, and don’t need you or any other career politician or government bureaucrat for anything. Anything.
You are replaceable, and pretty much anyone from off the street could do your job and that of any one of your colleagues from either side of the ‘aisle’- with a high likelihood of doing it much better than any of you. It’s not really a very high bar.
It’s over Mike, sit in your rocking chair.
