As a reminder, both Art. II, Sec. 1 and the 12th Amendment say that electors must vote for at least one person on the presidential/vice presidential slate who is from a state other than their own. This goes back to the days when the president and vice president ran separately.

It’s never been tested now that they’re part of a joint ticket. Wisdom suggests that, if Trump has Rubio or Donalds as his Veep, Democrats will try to invalidate Florida’s Electoral College count.

But Democrats could invalidate Florida Electoral College Delegates, but only for either Trump or his VP....not for both.

The rest of that statement notes that Trump could just take up residence in another state, if he chooses a Florida resident.

(Of the list, I’ve liked what I’ve seen of several, especially Stefanik...)

Excellent point. Rubio is a non-starter in that case. That's why DeSantis couldn't be veep either. You are right. We have had enough lawfare to last 10 lifetimes. I do NOT want to even think about "hanging shards" ever again.

If Trump and Rubio get enough electoral votes to cover Fla then Rubio won’t need their votes.

The can't "invalidate the count." The Electors still provide separate votes for President and Vice-President even though they appear together on the state ballots.

Yes, Trump will not receive the courtesy that Al Gore extended to Cheney, pretending that he was an inhabitant of Wyoming.

Plus, Rubio and Scott are both snakes.

And now is NOT the time to test it because I absolutely GUARANTEE the Democrats will tie this up in court. Best to just AVOID testing it.
