Hunter Biden trial verdict: President's son found GUILTY of all charges at federal gun trial
Daily Mail UK ^ | June 11, 2024 | Josh Boswell

Hunter Biden has been found guilty of three felonies today in his Delaware gun crimes trial.

The Wilmington, Delaware jury unanimously voted to convict Joe Biden ’s son of two counts of lying on a federal form to buy a gun, and one count of possessing the firearm while abusing drugs.

The historic conviction marks the first time a current President’s child has been found guilty of a felony.

He will now await Judge Maryellen Noreika to decide on a sentence for the crimes, which could be as high as 25 years in prison and a $250,000 fine – though the typical sentence is much lower.

Follow all the updates from our reporters in court in Wilmington, Delaware, and our team covering the biggest stories in Washington D.C.

He lied on a federal gun form. I don’t know if you have ever bought guns. I have. It is stated very clearly that it is a federal crime to lie, punishable by fine and/or jail time. I, and any other ordinary citizen who would lie on the 4473 form would be looking at serious consequences. Somehow, Hunter thought he was “protected”.

He wasn’t. If you’re saying that citizens shouldn’t have to go through these hoops that the govt makes us go through- I’m with you, but that’s just the way it is.

Yes, these are all federal crimes. Biden can pardon those. But there are state charges pending that he cannot...................

Yup... Instead of 25 years, just give him 24 because after all... He is the presidents son.

I hope Trump gets the DOJ to offer Hunter immunity to turn on his dad and uncle

He will never get the chance.

Daddy Biden will pardon Hunter for any and all federal crimes, known or unknown, after he loses the election and before he leaves office. He will most likely pardon his brother and all other members of the Biden Crime Family too.

The media will make a half-hearted argument that he is just protecting them from baseless prosecutions by Orange Man Bad, but Brandon really won't care by that point (if his handlers even try to explain to him what he is signing).

Opinions vary.

I prefer to go by actual history.

“Republican president Richard Nixon pardoned, commuted, or rescinded the convictions of 926 people. Among them are: Jimmy Hoffa – prominent labor union leader convicted of fraud and bribery (tax evasion) in 1964; sentence commuted (with conditions) on December 23, 1971.”

Some of those were state level crimes.

“...then Joe Biden must hang out with some pretty dumb MFs....”

Yep....it’s pretty obvious that he does; odongo, rice, val jar, brennon, etc....
The list is long, but yeah, they’re a bunch of dumb communist MFers and always have been.

Biden will not pardon him the day after the election.

Not the day after the election, but definitely sometime after the election and before he leaves office.

He may do like Clinton and issue pardons to all of his friends, family and campaign contributors the night before he leaves office. He is likely to issue a blanket pardon of all illegal aliens at the same time to take attention away from his friends and family pardons.

Brandon can do a lot more damage after he loses the election and before he is kicked out of the White House. He won't know or care as long as someone wipes his butt and gives him ice cream, but his handlers will be doing whatever they can to cripple Trump and stay in power.

I’m not arguing his case specifically, I am raising the contention as to whether it should have been a crime at all. For anybody. If you had used drugs 3 times out of a 12 month period, would that have disqualified you? How about 6? I can almost bet there is no case law giving that bright line definition. There is a charge separately called using a gun while in the commission of a felony, that is a proper law, because even if it was not fired, the threat during the felony, such as armed robbery, is an offense. Here, he possessed a gun, and used drugs. What about alcohol? How much would you have to drink to disqualify you from owning a gun? I am not trying to argue he should not have been convicted, because under the law, the jury instructions, and the evidence, the jury came to that conclusion pretty easily. What I am concerned about is merely possessing a gun, when never having used the gun in the commission of a crime, or having been convicted of a prior violent crime, is criminal. They are going to keep pushing this to the point that good amount of people are afraid to own a gun because of the potential legal consequences. People are already scared to use force against others who break into their house or business.

I disagree. The charge involved is lying on an affidavit to ACQUIRE a gub while being a drug addict. The lie was a deliberate act. The addiction, probably not. But it is not his addiction that is the issue - it is the lie on an affidavit.

I’m going to be a contrarian and say that Joe Biden will keep his word and will NOT pardon Hunter.

Joe will just commute Hunter’s sentence instead...

Joe is stuck with the bad publicity of pardoning his son’s felony drug/gun crimes. The only alternative would be for them to appeal on the grounds that the applicable laws violate the 2nd Amendment. Although it’s true Joe will never defend the 2nd Amendment.

A light prison sentence and that will be it.

I still maintain that all those flights JILL made back & forth should be paid for in person by the Bidens.

TAXPAYERS SHOULD not have to pay for that.
