About Sergey Karaganov (from Wiki):
Karaganov Doctrine
Karaganov is known as the progenitor of the Karaganov Doctrine, which states that Moscow should pose as the defender of human rights of ethnic Russians living in the 'near abroad' for the purpose of gaining political influence in these regions. This idea was first brought into domestic Russian Federation politics by Boris Yeltsin in 1992, although it was only a fringe ideology in Yeltsin's Russia. It has become a mainstream ideology in Putin's Russia after 2012.
After Karaganov published an article advocating this stance in 1992, Russia's foreign policy position linked Russian troop withdrawals from the Baltics with the end of 'systemic discrimination' against Russians in these countries. It was already a subject of controversy in February 1994 when the doctrine was the subject of remarks by Lennart Meri, the then-president of Estonia, in his Matthiae-Mahl speech to Hamburgers on 25 February.
In 2022 Karaganov claimed full ownership of this idea in a serious interview.
The Karaganov Doctrine has been likened by scholars to the idea that furnished Hitler's 1938 Anschluss of Austria.
Which is why this video is important. The Russians have amped up their nuclear threats lately probably due to frustration in Ukraine and because they see growing support for Ukraine in the West.
This messaging from Russia follows on the heels of Vladimir Solovyov (Russia's #1 talk show host) calling for Russia to invade, conquer, and annex the entirety of Europe. And no, he's not joking.

Whenever a politician invokes the will of God to forward an agenda, bad things happen.
Agreed. They always say “God is on our side” when common sense isn’t.
Myself, I don’t want God on my side. I want to be on God’s side.
The only person who needs the war in Ukraine to continue is Putin. If Russia goes home, he is a dead man. He started this war the way Hitler invaded Russia, on the assumption that Russia would collapse in a few weeks. He expected to be in Kiev in three days. Little more than driving. Egged on by Colonel Douglas Macgregor and his talk about “thermobaric” weapons.
This is Putin’s war.
She is best known for founding Russian Media Monitor, a project monitoring Russian state television, including its international outlets such as RT (formerly Russia Today). She has been described as the "foremost U.S. expert on Russian government-controlled television and propaganda". She has also been described as a "Russian TV whisperer for American ears".
Unless you speak Russian, you are taking the word of those aligned against Russia.
I thought Aleksandr Dugin was Putin’s Rasputin.
Did I get the translation right?
“Unless you speak Russian, you are taking the word of those aligned against Russia.”
On the video go to “more” and click on the Russian language transcript. If you have a translate option in your browser you can do this on your own to validate what it being said.
Julia Davis more or less runs her channel the same way MEMRI TV runs theirs and that’s by posting video of folks saying what they do and in their own words.
Also, we have a few native Russian language speakers on FR and I have yet to hear any of them complain about the translations or interpretations.
We’ll save Australia. Don’t want to hurt no kangaroo.
We’ll build an all-American amusement park there. They’ve got surfing too!
“Vladimir Solovyov says Russia should advance to the Atlantic”
It’s worse than that.
Though Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov is dying, his Muslim-Russian faction will probably force Putin’s successor to invade the West, no matter what happens in the near-term.
This has been our probable fate for the whole 20th century. A book titled “Icebreaker: Who Started the Second World War?” by Viktor Suvorov says that Stalin was poised to over-run Germany, Hitler accidentally learned that Stalin had prepared an extremely massive offensive buildup, that the Nazi-Soviet Pact was a diversion, Operation Barbarossa attacked Russia as a last-minute defensive resonse when Russian offensive deployment was in an unprepared state.

Russia has been poised to over-run the West since 1920.
The newly hatched Soviets were all set to overrun Poland, Germany & France, when the Russians saw Mary, the Mother of Jesus, blocking them, and they ran.
A barking dog rarely bites. It usually only does so when confronted directly.
“The Miracle on the Vistula” - thank you for sharing that!
No, you screwed up completely. Hamas must be annihilated or October 7th will be repeated until it is or Israel is.
The survival of Hamas is a victory for barbarism and a defeat for civilization.
Netanyahu wants the war to END in a decisive victory and with an enduring peace. I’m on the side of civilization. What side are you on? If your answer is “Hamas”, I will take it that you side with barbarism.
What a great idea.
Al Qaeda is still around. ISIS is still around. Setting an impossible goal of completely eliminating Hamas is Netanyahu’s way to create a Forever War in order to maintain power as long as possible to avoid being tried for corruption. Punishing Hamas for Oct 7 is justified, but pretending that they can be eliminated is only going to lead to WWIII.
No, they can be eliminated. They are a rump government in a tiny, isolated community right on the boarder of Israel. The UNRWA supplied them with arms and ammunition, that is the only reason they are still fighting. Throw out the UNRWA, make all shipments to Gaza pass through Israel, from trustworthy sources, like the U.S. with Israeli inspectors at the source port. No shiploads of “grain” from Iran or Qatar.
Not even a grain of sand or a desert breeze from Egypt.
What god is he referring to?
I get tired for the Russian nuclear talk. But to be completely honest, most of those comments or threats have come from people who are akin to Alex Jones or Sean Hannity. Of course, Medvedev I take a bit more serious—but even so, he has been a blowhard for years.
Most of this “noise” is for internal consumption. Don’t ignore it, but understand the context.
