The King County, Washington, Prosecuting Attorney's Office has charged a man with second-degree murder and assault, both felony counts, for allegedly shooting a teen he thought was holding a gun and who he believed was about to rob a sporting goods store.
Aaron Brown Myers, 51, told police he believed the 17-year-old victim had a gun and was going to rob a Big 5 Sporting Goods store in the Seattle suburb of Renton last Wednesday as the teen headed toward the retailer with two others, according to court documents filed by the prosecutor, Leesa Manion.
The boy was holding an airsoft gun, according to a police affidavit. An airsoft gun is a replica firearm that shoots low-power, nonmetallic pellets.
The two teens who were with the victim told police they were going to the sporting goods store to either return or exchange the airsoft gun because it was malfunctioning, the affidavit said.

Holding, NO (disorderly conduct, inducing panic, etc), possessing, in a holster, YES. Note that the linked article says that the gun was a “handgun-style BB gun”.
FALSE - “Now obviously you don’t want to walk into a bank or something like that...” I do it ALL THE TIME with my holstered sidearm, and amazingly enough (to you, apparently) people can actually differentiate between people holding a gun in their hand vs having a holstered gun.
You may not live in a free (or semi-free) state, but regardless, you know little to nothing about open carry or using language or reading it with precision.

This incident had nothing to do with the Second Amendment.
It is now being reported that Mr. Myers shot the kid seven times, with six shots in the back as the kid was on the ground.
Mall Cop Myers is going to prison.
Terrible thing to have happen.
His parents must be racked with grief.
The shooter asked too much of the boys and failed to collect information.
The shooter sounds as if he was on a power trip.
Those boys did not need to be in a state of apprehension of having their lives ended in an instant.

This guy pulls a gun on an innocent 17 year old boy. He wasn’t at a liquor store or a bank, but at a sporting goods store. In a sporting goods store, you might encounter, I don’t know, people carrying sporting goods?
The perpetrator had zero situational awareness coupled with not just ignorance, but weapons grade stupidity. He isn’t an officer of the law, not even a security guard, just a Barney Fife wannabe.
He fires multiple rounds into an innocent victim who was just going about his business. Oh, I thought he was going to rob the store, hijack a plane and fly it into the space needle!
There is no way this is a good shoot because the victim was innocent. You call him ignorant, but he was only making a transaction with a business. He was only guilty of not obeying some prick who had no business confronting him at all.
If you don’t comply and then he kills you, he is guilty of murder.
