I don’t know the Navy ways but I will say I had almost that after my first combat tour in Vietnam sadly most were just fillers to make you think you actually accomplished something, my second tour I think I added just 3 more told me a lot that did lol.
Too much Navy jargon for me to understand the significance.
Her CO on the USS Roosevelt, am thinking was possibly Brett Crozier, relieved of command for insecure communication regarding Covid and lack of readiness of the USS Roosevelt- the point of the spear of one of 2 Carrier Strike Groups based in Yokohama, Japan.
that’s a male officers hat(cover) and she just looks silly in it...
Correct. Vanderbilt is a fine school but is not the venue of any seafaring program. My father was a graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy and a merchant marine officer when he activated his naval reserve commission during the Korean War. He was of the opinion that that the US Navy gave short shrift to ship handling skills in favor of Navy doctrines, procedures, and protocols.
she is not ugly
She is what a normal 48 year old woman with out make up looks like.
Not every woman spackles and lifts.
A Captain, who shall remain nameless, on USS Princeton (LPH-5) ran it aground while I was serving on her.
Thanks. How do we know that it is a male head cover? Can you show a female head cover? Served USAF ‘57-’61 on PT boats in FL. Never saw high-ranking female NAVY officer. Did take USAF officers fishing in Gulf of Mex.

Lack of confidence in command huh? Female ossifer huh? Lot of that seems to be going around in the USN these days. Wonder why?
SWOs don’t get carrier commands - only Airdales...as a former SWO and OOD on the Independence, it was an irritating fact, but true.
The Peter Principle was superseded by the Dilbert Principle1 three decades ago.
The Dilbert Principle is a book, not just the cartoons.

and that diminishes it?
Now she’ll be Chief Flower Arranger at Navy banquets.
