In May, officials in the European Union finalized a sweeping new law that will radically change business activities around the world and, by extension, the societies they operate in.

The law, formally titled the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), will not only apply to companies that are based in the European Union, but also to businesses headquartered in other countries that provide products and services in the EU.

American companies that do about 500 million in European business must woke policies for every company in their supply chain or get fined.

Biden will accept this…Trump will threaten them with tariffs and get this revoked.

Its very simple. The 2nd Trump administration needs to tell the EU that any extra territorial application of their rules does not apply to American companies - OR companies from EU countries get hit with massive tariffs in retaliation.

Huh? Has anyone seen the recent elections all over Europe?

The leftist woke mob is losing everywhere.

Except Great Britain. And that’s the fault of the Tories who governed like limp wristed Republicans.

So, PRC will come to heel with all these wokeistic policies, right?

Headline is irrelevant…it says right in the article that the center continued to hold power. I also believe that “far-right” is a term applied to any party who doesn’t want to fully subsidize sex changes for prepubescent children…on other words, far-right in Europe is filled with communists.

China will comply with European demands…all they have to do is say that they are communist and they get a free pass on ESG.

You are absolutely correct, there are threshold limits on the amount of tyranny the people will accept when the left reveals its fascist underbelly as it enforces its policies. We have seen this reaction you describe this very day in Europe in the Europewide vote for the European Parliament.

But let's look at the position from which the left is being forced to retreat and I believe we will find that they will be forced one step back after two steps forward.

If you can sell global warming, there is no end to the tyranny that can be enforced from regulating stoves to imposing taxes.

If you can sell pandemic, there is no end to the tyranny that can be enforced up and down our Bill of Rights.

If you can sell racism, there is no end to the tyranny you can inflict to achieve social justice.

In other words, the Democrats know how to seize the high ground and rule from above. The higher the ground the more impervious the misrule is to reform.

The left tested the limits of its cynicism in Europe and was served a temporary setback. Now, it must either pretend to limit its tyrannies or increase the fear or urgency they had induced by ascending the high ground. Yes, they will take one step back.

“ Biden will accept this…Trump will threaten them with tariffs and get this revoked.”
————
This bears repeating.

The EU - or any foreign country or coalition of countries - can do whatever they want within their own borders, but they have no right to command anything from anyone so much as 1 millimeter beyond those borders. It is, however, up to other nations to show the EU that they don’t have the POWER to enforce such rules beyond their borders.

Trump’s 2nd term cannot come soon enough.

Demographics is destiny, so you’re not sidetracking anything.

We stopped having babies here (or, rather, we murdered 60+ million of them), and then the insiders intent upon remaking the electorate had an excuse (labor shortages) to import the Turd World, and now you know why we are where we are right now.

“””””Companies covered under the CSDDD include EU-based businesses with more than 1,000 employees and a net worldwide turnover of more than $489 million. (Net turnover is similar to revenue.)”””””

An eye opener I learned as a puzzled young man about 1970/71 when I had been led to think corporations were conservative yet the giants seemed to be rolling over for every leftist idea coming out of LBJ and Nixon about affirmative action, day care, etc., was that the big ones welcomed those burdens because they could afford it while their smaller competitors and future threatening startups couldn’t.

It hindered businesses just as the critics said, but the guys already big enough said fine, burn those ladders for us, trip those little guys, throw those lawn chairs in their path.
