Rex Heuermann’s kids are “along for the dark ride” and standing by the suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer, according to their lawyer.
Victoria Heuermann and Christopher Sheridan remain by their dad’s side even after he was charged with two more murders and prosecutors detailed a sickening “planning document” he allegedly kept on a computer in his Massapequa Park home, lawyer Vess Mitev said.
“They continue to bravely face the scrutiny and adversity head-on and they will wait for the legal process to conclude in a courtroom and not in the court of public opinion,” Mitev told The Post on Friday morning.
“They are along for the dark ride, one might say,” Mitev also told the US Sun.

This is the type of case that got George Pataki (R) elected in NY supporting the death penalty. Which of course he turned into a rino and the Death Sentence in NYS was overturned.
Just evil.
Looking at the photos on that site, that is a butt ugly family.
But put it in perspective. Every country in the world has been sending JUST THIS TYPE OF INDIVIDUAL at Joe Biden's invitation, to enter our open borders and to be lost forever as an unidentified drifter.
Many such persons are living at our expense in NYC in illegal immigrant hotels, already preying on our citizens.
Why zero in on this guy? Because he's white and ugly? I guess.
Millions more out there thanks to Joe. A whole Earth's worth of serial perv murderers.
There is a Stockholm Syndrome aspect to children’s relationships with their parents.
“Why zero in on this guy?”
Are you serious? He’s a serial killer with what 6-8 known victims who has been killing since the mid 90’s and they have plenty of physical and circumstantial evidence, including DNA. They also have 10 sets of other remains from his dumping ground that they haven’t been able to connect to him (yet) so...
Why shouldn’t they zero in on him?
This is his lawyer talking, not the adult children themselves. Of course, he’s putting a positive spin on it.
But maybe the family just want to see the evidence at trial for themselves rather than read about it in the NYPost?
Yes we should pursue this man, with his unmistakeable face-for-radio, with all due haste and aggressiveness.
But the oceans and swarms and whole countries-at-a-time people coming over our borders in 100,000-150,000 per month numbers just MIGHT include people who are imprisoned in their former home countries for doing the same kinds of things this guy (allegedly, I don't want to risk violating this guy's civil rights) did.
Recall the Marieletos who came from Cuban insane asylums and prisons during Reagan, thus prompting some screenwriter to come up with Scarface, the movie.
FReegards, my little friend! - c
They still have to have a crime before they (local law enforcement) can investigate and pursue suspects.
You’re engaging in what aboutism. Why this guy when there are all those alien criminals.
The answer is because this guy’s case is ready for trial.
Second, if the illegal entry is the second or third or more, then entry is immediately a FELONY, not a misdemeanor.
There is no information or investigation necessary. They are instantly guilty. They can be immediately detained and immediately expelled, which is what they should be.
What the problem is is this:
Illegal aliens commit an OUTRAGEOUSLY increased number of federal and state crimes. In 2018 HALF of the federal prosecutions were of illegal aliens.

Now my point, which you call 'absolutism' is that I am more worried about 20 or 30 million new illegal aliens of UNKNOWN criminal status being allowed to enter the United States and prey upon us by the tens of thousands per year. That is something you can not refute: It is happening every day. We all are at risk of being victims of this; now no one is at risk of the perv-murderer who is in jail. The threat is over.
What I will say in reply is that you seem to be completely lacking in proportional awareness of the problems that we have been discussing. You are worried about a single perv-murderer who may have killed up to a dozen women after sexually assaulting them.
I am more concerned about millions of potential crimes being allowed over a period of years by unvetted, untracked, unregistered, alien vagabonds, whose first breaths in the US were done while simultaneously committing the crime of illegal invasion -- either felony or misdemeanor. They are all instant criminals, millions and millions and millions of them. And no one is doing anything about the problem except encouraging more of it.
This is an overwhelming greater problem, now and going forward, than this or any other single tabloid perv-story.
