String of mysterious attacks across Europe opens new front in Russia’s war on the West
The Telegraph ^ | 6 June 2024 • 8:48pm | Joe Barnes

First, a warehouse in east London being used to supply aid to Ukraine burned down. Weeks later, an Ikea in Vilnius, Lithuania, mysteriously caught fire.

Swedish investigators were already looking into the possibility that several railway derailments could have been caused by a state-backed saboteur.

Then an inferno engulfed the largest shopping centre in Warsaw, Poland’s capital. It was Donald Tusk, the Polish prime minister, who began joining the dots to suggest the West was under attack by Russian espionage.

“We are examining the threads – they are quite likely – that the Russian services had something to do with the Marywilska fire,” he said last month.

His claims were further bolstered when a former Russian soldier was arrested north of Paris this week after explosives detonated in his hotel room.

Warnings from European intelligence agencies that Russia is plotting acts of sabotage on the Continent in its escalation of the stand-off with the Nato military alliance have been thrust into the limelight.

An intelligence assessment shared with Western governments claims that Russia’s notorious GRU military intelligence agency, known for its attacks on foreign soil using highly trained agents, is now turning to criminal gangs to carry out attacks in Europe.

Yes, I have.

I’d bet the FIB knows about at least some of them and is just leaving them alone.

ESPN had no coverage of French Open this year. I guess their fanbase just wants to see wall to wall black guys and gals talking about basketball all day.

Finally, NBC is covering the last few rounds, starting today. And I saw that one of the ladies semifinalists was from Eastasia, the country we’ve always been at war with. Whose flag is not allowed to be shown on either TV or internet coverage of any tennis tournament for the past two years. Along with the flag of Eastasia Minor.

I’ve yet to hear any sports journalists or broadcasters even mention this. But I guess it’s for the good of everyone, and I probably shouldn’t even be mentioning it. We should just feel lucky to not be living in Eastasia.

I would think that if this is a Russian harassment endeavor our top flight intelligence agencies in the US and Europe would have uncovered reliable info by now.

If you'd read the Telegraph's story, it's quite apparent that they have.

Yes, it will, as long as the disciples of Ilyin and Dugin control Moscow's machine. Gird your loins, as they said in Biblical times.

Nothing new with Russian attacks on the West, both physical and political! After all, they blew up their own gas pipeline, didn’t they? Not to mention collusion with Trump’s election campaign!

Not to mention collusion with Trump’s election campaign!

Now it's Russians colluding with Trump? I thought the official line was that the Russians are terrified of another Trump presidency. Which is it?

All Russians must be considered enemy-combatants. They are belligerents and must be treated as such. Internment or deportation to Russia is the only reasonable solution.

This is the perfect time for Trump to invite Zelensky and Putin to Mar a Lago for a weekend of fine dining, golf and discussing how to end this with both countries saving face.

The Brits are all hyped and make up all kinds of garbage to fit their agenda.

And as usual, you try to sell this hogwash as serious.

We need troops outside all the Ikeas. Stat.

Gawd, I am glad you aren’t running anything. The US did that once and it didn’t go over well.

Keep in mind, internment can be used on you someday.

The French and the Poles believe they have good evidence. So do the Germans. But of course a Tyrannophile is required to claim it’s “hogwash”.

Countries are the same.

I might believe that the ammo depot and some train derailments were espionage but not the IKEA. The West can't send Ukraine weapons to attack Russia without Russia responding to that involvement. Our governments are making it easier for Russia to attack us.

I was in state LE during the 60’s and worked with the FBI on several cases, one of which was surveilling a sleeper. In the Cold War, the USSR had many hidden assets scattered around the US and I doubt it is any different now.

Yes, the Soviets had Spetsnaz teams ready to hit targets all over the country.

Now we’ve got similar teams from various countries from around the world ready to go.
