NYPD Park cops tackle 14 year old migrant girl to the ground over selling fruit as furious crowd tells officers to let her go.
She was allegedly selling fruit from an unlicensed cart with her family. The mother was arrested and placed in a police car.
"Ok fine, talk to the parents. Don't cuff the kid".

Also learned or rather confirmed that NY cops are brave and duty conscious when going after unlicensed street vendors, but about serial robbers, attempted murderers on the subway etc. not so much
Not uncommon for the unlicensed vending to occur in the subways as well.
Probably the only time any law enforcement in NY state has taken any action toward an illegal alien in decades.
So, her crime was that she was selling from an unlicensed fruit cart?
I suppose that’s fair. Can’t have people buying fruit without the City getting its cut...

I was driving through the Bronx in NY city recently and at an intersection, a large group of women in colored Hijabs swarmed the cars, selling fruit, drinks, newspapers.
Certainly no one was controlling them
I felt like I was in Somalia.
It's a health risk. But the city should not bother to enforce it at this point. Just warn the citizens that you may get sick.
Maybe when a decent mayor gets elected, they can clean up NYC again. But for now, why bother?
No argument with that it just seems that cops pick the low hanging fruit rather than the important stuff. Remember she was arrested for not having a license NOT because she’s illegal.
It is a health risk - but people should be smart enough to understand that risk. My problem is that she is taking away money from legitimate businesses that have to go through all of the health and safety hoops and everything else that the city requires.

NY cops catch real criminals who are then released with no bail to commit more crimes.
But they have time to tackle a kid (illegal or not) for selling fruit?! And you really had to tackle her? Wow, sure some tiny 14 year old girl was a threat. Guess that’s the kind of wimps we have left after all the DEI and woke crap. The real cops have moved out.
Hey NYPD, maybe go after actual criminals such as rapists and murderers. Oh, that’s right — why bother. The DA and such will just let them back out again.
So maybe a charge against a 14 year old kid might stick?
Definitely don’t be selling “loosies”. That’s a capitol offense in NYC.
On the subways it’s candy bars. The illegals walk around with boxes of candy, like you’d sell in school toting their anchor kids with them. It’s all supported by these organizations and NGOs. It’s not like you walk into any store and buy a fundraising case of candy. It’s all given to them.
Policing in America needs a huge do-over from the top down. Way too aggressive and abusive. Small Town departments should be dissolved into the sheriff’s departments and save the taxpayers money.
