So, WHY ISN'T BIDEN on the OHIO BALLOT?? DO TELL!
“TDS hurts Democrats politically among independent voters.”
***********
Valid point. I won’t argue with you there. :)
One thing I don’t think that we can accuse Democrats of is weakness, a common theme that routinely runs through the GOP.
Democrats just don’t seem to know when to stop, and Republicans don’t seem to know when to stop them.
Wherever/whoever you heard that from, they are lying to you, and you should keep that in mind the next time that source tells you something.
So, WHY ISN'T BIDEN on the OHIO BALLOT?? DO TELL!
Trump's name isn't on the ballot either because NOBODY is on the Ohio ballot right now. The ballot doesn't even exist yet. Ohio law said that the parties had to submit their nominees to be on the ballot at least 90 days before the election - by August 7. It is only after that date that the ballot is finalized. Trump's name hasn't been submitted yet because he won't be the official nominee until the delegates vote at the GOP convention.
That wouldn't be a problem for the GOP because their convention is a few days before that date, but the DNC's is after. So, people anticipated that could be a problem for the Democrats, and that Biden's name might not be on the ballot unless something changed.
Now, the truth is the Ohio legislature has moved that date in multiple elections in the past to accommodate major party conventions, and it has never been made an issue. But, someone got the dumb idea to refuse to do that this time for the Democrats.
The Democrats, who were desperate to avoid the horrible optics of Biden being nominated with riots outside their Convention, happily seized the opportunity, and their delegates are voting to change the nomination to be via an online meeting prior to that date. The Ohio Legislature, realizing they screwed up, finally agreed to change the law. But too late - the Dems are not going to have a live, in person nomination in Chicago, and we handed them the excuse to do that.
So, both Biden and Trump will be officially nominated prior the deadline, and both will be on the ballot.
You are a rude DEMOCRAT.
Loser
The only people “keeping him off the ballot” was the DNC.
Why help your enemy when they make a mistake?
Learn to read. The GOP isn’t trying to stop him.
Typical liar. You’re profile says you were walking away from here.
Do it.
So please, tell me just one fact I've stated that is incorrect about the nomination and ballot procedure in Ohio?
As for rude... Well, maybe you have a point. But I am just sick to death of Republicans acting and arguing by their feelings rather than by thinking. And once again, doing what felt good In the moment ended up helping the Democrats by handing them an excuse to reduce the crap show at their upcoming Chicago convention.
Although, everything I've said in my posts on this thread about the ballot and nomination is 100% correct. I am just sick to death of so many Republicans being flat out stupid by not thinking these things through before deciding to advocate whatever feels good in the moment.
It feels great to keep Joe Biden off the Ohio ballot, right? Except it didn't work, which was easily predicted by anybody who bothered to do a little bit of research, and actually ended up helping the Democrats. I was looking forward to a nice riot outside the Democratic Convention to make their party look terrible, but you morons decided to give them an out. Well done
Idiots.
As far as I can tell, we accomplished two things:
1) Gave the Dems an a means of avoiding a riot in Chicago on the night Biden is nominated, and; 2) Made it look to swing voters that Republicans in Ohio are as afraid of an open election as are Democrats in Colorado.
How does either of those things help us in November? Because the way I see it, we just helped the Democrats solely because it "felt good" to not change the date.
And by the way, while I can see how this may have looked like the Democrats just being really dumb from outside Ohio, the truth is that the legislature has always shifted the dates to accommodate late convention dates. So it was just us being petty, and it backfired.
I’m sick of Republicans that think like you.
Do you have Boehner, DeWhine and McCarthy on speed dial?
What a loser. Typical Bush RINO.
You act like a Democrat. Sad.
No, you're sick of Republicans that think period.
You didn't address a single fact or argument Iade Didn't say I was wrong about how the Democrats got around this, or the likely results...nothing. You got angry because reality doesn't fit your emotions. It feels good to not change he the date, so you support it even though it objectively hurts Republicans. And you don't like someone like me pointing out that fact to you.
You, and people who think (or rather, emote) like you are the reason conservatism is failing. You think only about whatever gives you short-term emotional satisfaction rather than is calculated to succeed. As a result, you are easy for the left to bait, and make useful fools when they want to stereotype conservatives negatively.
Idiots.
Not only that - for some reason which I can't fathom, the Democrat ballot fraud machine in Ohio appears to be busted.
Cleveland stood down in 2020, while Dayton geared up their ballot fraud factories.
It's the damnedest thing.
I believe that 2022 was very similar.
